OSU grad entry 2019
So I didn't get into the psych np program . I have four years of experience at the bedside of adult and pediatric med surgery units . I've traveled for the past year . They felt I didn't show my knowledge of what a psych np does . They felt I didn't explain my goals and what I wanted. So I'm reapplying and if anyone else is it knows anything about it let me know

Seton RN Residency July 2015
I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they have interviews available until May. Also, I applied to multiple units and only had interviews at Dell Children's Medical Center for the Ortho and Neuro units. Also, I think there is one recruiter for each hospital to weed out the (assuming) hundreds of resumes and applications they see. The only reason I had an interview so fast was because I was persistent due to the fact that I was in town for a few days and I am from out of state. (Ohio) Don't be discouraged just yet, I know the waiting game is hell but this is just the first full month of interviews. also, is anyone else interviewing at other hospital systems?

Seton RN Residency July 2015
1. BSN, decent GPA 3.3 2.I did not, but I'm also out of state so they may have cut me some slack. 3. I have two years working as a nurse's aide in a nursing home and one year working in a hospital setting on an ortho floor. The recruiter specifically told me when she called that my work history and experience made me stand out. I also already have my Texas RN license, which was a plus for her. Hope this helps

Seton RN Residency July 2015
It's a recruiter, she sets up the interviews because multiple managers come to the interviews. It'd be really inconvenient to get calls from every manager or to make every manager call you.

Seton RN Residency July 2015
Wanted to update everyone, I interviewed for the Ortho and Neuro positions at Dell Children's Medical Center. It was a panel interview and I thought I did well when I first interviewed and am a little anxious to hear back from them. Also everyone is super nice, and I had the best experience setting up an interview and meeting the staff and touring the hospital. Even if I am not chosen for the position I still would rave about how positive my experience was just being interviewed.

Seton RN Residency July 2015
They can start interviewing applicants as soon as they finish parts I and II of the application. So I've already finished sending in my application so I'm waiting for them to call me for interviews. After finishing part II there is a page that explains interviews can be anywhere from March 23-May 15th (This is an estimate based on memory).

Seton RN Residency July 2015
I didn't know how many we could apply to. I talked to the HR recruiter today and I asked her if it was possible if they'd start with interviews next week and she said next week is when they would start calling people so it is possible. She told me she'd send an email telling when I'm available since I am from out of state. Can I just say Arnela (HR) is really nice and helpful.

Columbus jobs AND License issues
Hey everyone, Looking for some advice on where to look for positions. I am a New Grad BSN RN, passed the NCLEX on the 13th. I have applied to Ohio health and nationwide Children's Hospital. I want to apply to the Wexner Medical Center, but I was told I should wait and apply for the residency in May. I've also already applied for a Mount Carmel new grad position but am unclear when that starts. HR from Mount Carmel has told me to attend a job fair in the near future but they do not have a set date yet. Also, I have my Texas license by examination and have submitted fingerprints, verified license via NURSYS and mailed in my application with a money order enclosed to the OHIO BOARD OF NURSING. I was wondering if anyone knew how long licensure by endorsement takes, I have tried contacting the board numerous times and have received no response. I did make sure to check that I wanted a temporary permit. I have left 4 emails in the past month, and called four times and no one answers or messages back. I plan on going to Columbus this weekend to visit friends, would it be worthwhile to go into the actual Building their located at? Also, I'm from Toledo, and am able to commute for a few weeks before actually moving down there. tl;dr Does anyone know about any job leads in Columbus and/or know how long the endorsement process takes or know how to speed it up.

Beginning Precepting in an ICU
This is the third semester of my BSN program and I will be precepting a nurse in the ICU of a local hospital - I didn't get any information on the kind of ICU (i.e. CVICU MICU SICU) . I'm nervous and want to know what lab values I should have memorized- drugs I should know - any tips or hints on learning as much as I can in the ICU would be helpful.
