I just scheduled my exam awhile ago and finally taking it this September 15, 2008.
I was looking for the September 2008 Support Group and found their is none in existence so i figured to start one.
I am currently on Saunder's 4th Ed. and some other references like, Exam Cram, Illustrated Study Guide for the NCLEX-RN Exam, Prioritization, Delegation Assignment by Linda LaCharity and other Q and A books by Saunder's and Mosby.
But i am focusing more on Saunder's, i just like to have other references to understand topics which i am weak in.
I wasn't a very good student before or wasn't that much focus with my studies while in school. That's why i am very anxious now with my upcoming exam.
Now I am giving my best in my review and hoping and praying that i may pass it on the first try.
I really want and dreampt of becoming an RN and finally i am a test closer to becoming one.

Thank you all for your prayers. I find out that I failed the NCLEX on today. I will more than likely retake in 50 days. I'm so sad and don't know where I'm going to begin to study again. I don't have the money for Kaplan. Any advice????

So sorry to hear you didn't pass. Kaplan does have a cheaper book (around $30) that you can buy in most bookstores, that gives you some of their questions and stratagies. I'm sure that would help, if you can't afford Kaplan.
i'm sorry to hear that kind-hearted08.... i don't have the money for kaplan either, so i've been doing the review course ncsbn learning extension online. i've also been reading saunders and doing a million questions.

You don't need to spend a whole lot of money to pass!!! I took NCLEX CRAM book and Saunder's (a blue book) out from the library and brought the Princeton Review book for $35 dollars! I also
only
did the exam questions on the NCSBN website for a three week trial and spent $49 dollars. The library has very recent NCLEX BOOKS!!!! I was at my local library and they had a 2008 edition Kaplan and 2009 edition for Mosby!!! I only ended up finishing Princeton and NCLEX CRAM. I took my NCLEX-
RN
on September 16, and I passed! You can do it! Don't give up!!!!!! Really grasp the fundamentals of nursing!!! The basics!!!! You can do it!!! I'll pray for you!!! :loveya:
I don't know if I pass cause I run out of time at around 235. I got the loooong test. I did that on my 1st test, which I had no clue what I was answering. The 2nd time I thought I was doing well and it turn off at 114.
This time I had lots of SATA, which I thought was easier than the multi-CQs. I think I had about 4 drug calc. I had one click on the exibit that I answered without pulling it up and realized it after I went on to the next Q. Atleast this time I was familiar with the subjects and not as clueless. I have this feeling that it was near passing but near is not passing. I will know in a couple of days. In the mean time prayers to all. :wink2:

congrats to those who passed. just took the exam for the 5th time a while ago.it stopped at 75.
