September 2008 support group!

Published

Hi everyone..

I just scheduled my exam awhile ago and finally taking it this September 15, 2008.

I was looking for the September 2008 Support Group and found their is none in existence so i figured to start one. :D

I am currently on Saunder's 4th Ed. and some other references like, Exam Cram, Illustrated Study Guide for the NCLEX-RN Exam, Prioritization, Delegation Assignment by Linda LaCharity and other Q and A books by Saunder's and Mosby.

But i am focusing more on Saunder's, i just like to have other references to understand topics which i am weak in.

I wasn't a very good student before or wasn't that much focus with my studies while in school. That's why i am very anxious now with my upcoming exam.

Now I am giving my best in my review and hoping and praying that i may pass it on the first try.

I really want and dreampt of becoming an RN and finally i am a test closer to becoming one.

Good Luck to us and God Bless.

Brena02 I would love to study via email for the next week. :yeah:

Great I emailed you

Hey guys, I just got back from taking NCLEX. I had 75 questions, and was done in 40 min. I had 3 math questions, 14 SATA, one picture (identifying a rhythm strip). I had alot of infection control, Psych, OB, prioritization, and pt teaching. I didn't have a single question on delegating, and all of my meds were easy heart med or antibiotics that I knew. I'm just a little worried because my last question was an easy one about a drug allergy. I feel pretty good about my test, but I'll feel better once I have a lisence number! :p

What books did you use to study?

Good luck, you pass

I took Kaplan, did all of the Qbank and Qtrainer, as well as reviewing content on their videos and in their book. I also used Saunders Q&A review book and CD. I liked Saunders (and actually had the exact same question on my test that I had in Saunders), but personally preferred Kaplan. What are you using to study Brena?

Yes, I used the green covered Q&A book. I didn't use the Priority and Delegation book, but I've heard very good things about it. Is this your first time testing, Brena?

No second and last time, I will pass, I did kaplan the first time and find it did not help me at all. But i heard good things about Saunders and EXam Cram. How did you find the Saunders book?

I heard on here many positive things about Saunders. It is good for more content, knowledge based questions, in my opinion. I like Kaplan because it helped me being to critically think, which I found myself doing alot on NCLEX. I know Kaplan doesn't work for everybody, but I really found the practice and stratagies I got from Kaplan helpful. I personally thought Kaplan's questions were harder than the actual NCLEX questions I had.

Oh man...I failed again. Think I'm gonna try Suzanne's Plan and take the test again as soon as possible!!!!
