Hi guys and girls,

I'm a little bit worried about they are interviewing / hiring the internals. I heard they always focus on their internals first and I was told that this time they had many internals applied. Why do I feel so discouraged ??

Yes, its true. I have also heard that CHLA loves hiring people from within. (It's about who you know, not what you know LOL) BUT don't be discouraged!! STAY POSITIVE! I'm an external too...I'm so nervous and really hoping for a job. But I figure because of the big switch to the new hospital, I'm pretty sure they'll be hiring a good amount of new grads (?-I'm just guessing)...Anyway, keep us posted on your job hunt!

I mean she told me I was the very first person HR interviewed and I'm already rejected? I didn't think I did bad at the interview but thats the way things go I guess. Good luck to everyone else!! Seriously!

And dont feel bad for me I already have a job here in NY but I really want to be in cali so I was applying. Im still hoping for UCLA too :)

Dear Alyssa,

You still have other opportunities such as UCLA and I heard UCLA pays much more than other hospitals plus it's a magnet hospital. Also didn't you say you applied at CHOC as well? Who knows they most likely to accept you. You are so creative and active, coming from NY but you applied to a few hospitals here in Ca, while I'm living in Cali (all my life) did not even know those hospitals LOL !

AWWWW BUMMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I wish they would've at least let you interview with the unit director. I bet it wasn't your HR interview...maybe it's because you're in NY?? No idea but I'm glad you ahve other plans up your sleeve and are being positive.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you for UCLA!! Keep us posted on either this thread or UCLA's thread!

What job do you have lined up in NY already? Hospital? Unit? LUCKY:)

thanks for the support guys. Its at a small hospital in upstate NY (Unity Hospital) on a dialysis, ETOH detox floor. But, I really want to work on a cardiac/telemetry floor.

You are so lucky, at least you have a job at Unity Hospital. Look at me, I have no job, big fat zero! I have a good feeling that you will get the job you wanted at UCLA and UCLA is an awesome place to be !!

I know.. I feel very fortunate to have that job. It's just, Ive been in the same area my whole life and I want a big change. I want to work at a great hospital to start out my career. I don't wanna be stuck here anymore, lol.

You will find a job!! I have no doubt in my mind. You should call cedars-sinai recruitment, they are accepting resume/gpa via email. She'll give you the nurse recruiters email. USC's application goes up May 1st. Loma Linda goes up May 9th..

That's all I got. lol
