Seminole State Spring 2012 Generic/Concurrent Applicant

Published

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else is on this website that is applying to the upcoming spring evening term for SSC and if so, what are your thoughts. Are you nervous? I am!

@kirbycruiser... Thanks for the advice regarding the orientation. I was concerned to take the Valencia West online orientation, since we will not be attending there and the orientation was 35 dollars. :)

@dawniepoo... I do not believe we need to have the immunizations done prior to starting the online orientation, but I would get started on them as soon as possible so its one less thing to worry about after we all get accepted. ;)

Tomorrow will be the end of week two everyone... Four to Six weeks to go.

The health form for UCF is online: http://hs.sdes.ucf.edu/forms/hc/immunization_form.pdf

UCF requires proof of two doses of the MMR or proof of immunity via titer lab results. Don't forget to sign the waiver declining vaccination for Bacterial Meningitis and Hep B if you do not have those immunizations. My Hep B is in progress but I still signed the waiver as to not hold things up.

The form does need to be filled in and signed by your doctor or health dept.

You can fax the form to 407-823-3135, or bring it in to the UCF office in the Partnership Bldg at the Sanford/Lk Mary campus.

Kirbycruiser, you are a wealth of information!!! Thanks:yeah: I have an appointment with my doc on Oct 25. I have to wait that long. Is there a form we need for proof of physical too?

I do not think we need a physical yet, but it may be required by the program if, er I mean when, we get accepted.

I thought this was a class that was established in our tuition? If we have to take it outside of SSC/UCF Concurrent program, I would recommend visiting the American Heart Association website for classes since this is the standard used through out the different hospital systems.

I read the posts from the last class that started in August. If I remember correctly they had to have it done prior to starting. I could be wrong....

The time is going by so slowly. It seems like we have been waiting more than 2 weeks! Of course, it's only been 2 weeks since the deadline, so most of us have been waiting about a month.

I actually went back this weekend and read the post from the past group. You are correct, it does look like you needed to have it done before you start. Guess its another checkpoint on our journey to acceptance within the Concurrent Program. :)

I know I get a little ahead of myself sometimes and then I can't remember where I get my info!:D

Are we there yet?

I wish kirbycruiser. At least we are finishing out week three of waiting. Almost three to five more weeks of waiting. We are sooooo close. :)

Hello everyone! I got accepted to Valencia's program...with a Fall 2013 start :(. I wish it were more like Fall 2012. Anyways, I've been trying to figure out what to do about work if I get accepted into Seminole for the Spring. Is anyone else planning to work? If so, how do you think it will work out with the changing schedule and all? I'm just nervous thinking that I may get accepted but not be able to attend b/c of work :(

Congrats on the acceptance! I will be working at least part time during school. It is out of necessity. I also have 2 small kids so my plate will be full!

I totally understand! I have 3 kids myself and I earn more than my husband so I don't have the option of not working right now. I just haven't figured out what to do just yet. My current employer will not work with my schedule so I would have to find something with lots of flexibility. Hoping it all works out...

I was really excited about going to school at night and weekends until I found out that is not the case with this program. So frustated!
