Seminole State Spring 2012 Generic/Concurrent Applicant

Published

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else is on this website that is applying to the upcoming spring evening term for SSC and if so, what are your thoughts. Are you nervous? I am!

@booboobear you are right- one week closer. The weather is fantastic. Why am I inside of the computer???

What about the SSC requirements. Are we going to have to fill out immun. forms for them also?

No immunization forms for SSC (at least not now). For online orientation you can call 407-708-2805 and talk to Michelle Van Brunt. The online orientation will include an advising appointment.

I recommend visiting the UCF office located at SSC sanford/Lake Mary campus for advising on all UCF requirements and a things to do list.

I have not registered for orientation yet, I plan to do that this week. If any one gets any new info on orientation please share.

The blue form is just UCF's immunization form that your doctor or health department has to fill out. I went to my doctor on Monday, she said a titer would take a week or more to get back so I just got the immunization shot (MMR) it was quicker and easier. I also went ahead and started the Hep B immunization since I have never received it and she assured me it would be required by the program anyway.

I hope this month goes by quick.

@dawniepoo... I started my process this week with UCF. I thought we could take the orientation online, but it won't allow us to take the orientation online due to our major. Hmm... Anyone have any advice? Did I miss something? In addition, I agree its been a long week; however, we are one week closer to the decisions. :)

I took mine online. Make your major Nursing pending and your campus Valencia West. It took me about 30-45 minutes online and I was done. My advisor actually told me that if I wanted to take my orientation online (I had to, since they only accepted me a few days before the semester started and there was only one on-campus orientation session left, but I was working that day) to just fiddle around and change majors/campuses until I was able to do it online.

Which BLS class do we have to take?

You received the Hep B Immunization? I declined it and now I am wondering if I should have accepted it.

Which BLS class do we have to take?

I thought this was a class that was established in our tuition? If we have to take it outside of SSC/UCF Concurrent program, I would recommend visiting the American Heart Association website for classes since this is the standard used through out the different hospital systems.

I don't think it will matter. We will all be required to have it eventually, but you do not need it to be accepted, so that means you will have plenty of time to get it later. It is a series of three shots I just figured I would get it started. Can't hurt. There will be plenty of students who do not have it or who do not have it completed. Its not a big deal. Don't stress over it. ;)

Thanks for the advise, kirbycruiser and I agree I do hope we all get accepted. Two weeks almost done, four to six to go. :yeah:

For online orientation for SSC/UCF

1. Go to www.orientation.ucf.edu

2. click on transfer orientation

3. Choose Sanford/Lake Mary Campus

4. Go to bottom of page click on "register Online"

6. Complete Reservation form that appears.

7. Make a copy of the confirmation and payment notice to keep. You can bring payment to UCF office on SSC lake mary campus to expedite your orientation process.

When you have completed orientation you then can call Michelle Van Brunt to lift the orientation hold from your account and cancell the advising appointment since we will not need it.

Good Luck Everyone!!!!!!

Thanks kirbycruiser. Do we need to have the proof of immunizations done first?

No, I don't think so. I did not read anywhere that one should be done before the other.

I don't know about the rest of you but this is helping to keep my mailbox anxiety in check, lol at least a little. ;)
