hello everyone,

got a question. when applying for the 2012 nurse corp selection boards, are all the applicants all over the country competing with eachother or do you compete with just your region? i was told there were only 22 slots and if we are competing with the whole country-OMG! waiting on an answer sucks. my recruiter has a back up plan for me if i dont get picked the first time for the med/surg but hopefully I do, and good luck to everyone else as well. talk to you all soon.

Um, she has not said anything about needing to be commissioned soon. She just told me to return the letter of acceptance asap. I'm not sure if it is a clinic or hospital or even what will I be doing. I'll probably start a thread asking people what they know or think about Kadena AB. I haven't commissioned yet. I just found out yesterday so everything is still so brand new to me. Yes, I will be coming in as a 1st Lt. At the time of the application, I had about 4.5 yrs experience and how I have 5 so hopefully by next year I will just be able to make captain (but not sure exactly how that works). I know someone started a thread for the Aug 27th COT class, but I don't think anyone is using it. My recruiter said sometimes people make facebook pages for their class. I wonder if someone has made one for ours.

I know apparently after you are cleared and scrolled and they get "the call' then I think they have seven days to do it. Which i didn't realize. But yeah you just got told so. Looks like Kadena is a nice place. I think it's just a clinic though!! I'm not sure if their is a FB page or not. I havn't checked that far into anything.

There are about 46 of us active duty enlisted folks that will be joining you at COT in Aug. We haven't created an FB page yet since we're all still on the downward slope to graduation/NCLEX this summer as the it gets closer I'm pretty sure someone will create an FB page.

Thanks for the info 2012RN2b! How long have you been active duty? I wonder will there be more prior active duty officers, than us who are not prior enlisted. I wonder how many of us total will be in our class? Well, congrats on graduation and good luck with NCLEX!

Thanks willtsmith. Have you done anything else since being notified that you were accepted?

To ATLRN0828.... Yes I have signed the acceptance, and we have done some of the other stuffs otherthan the swearing. We may do that some time this month. I will keep your updated. Any one seen the cost of the uniforms? Around $ 2000

Ummm...I had heard before that the uniforms would cost that much, but the other day my recruiter said something about a couple hundred dollars. So, I'm not too sure now. I've only turned in the acceptance letter.

ATLRN0828.... I saw the prices when I visited the OTS website under COT incoming required items. My advice is, people should visit that site to know the COT expectations. I hope this will help.

Hey willtsmith,I actually have been on the website and saw the estimated amounts for everything. When talking to my recruiter the other day, she said we would get the uniforms and that's when she said it would just be a couple hundred. Maybe she knows something that will save a few dollars...LOL. I will talk to her again tomorrow and see what she says again
