I think it is from all over the nation, but I think they recruit for different positions within the hospital. In your case, there are 22 positions for Med/Surg available, but for another area like OR there may be more. At least that was the impression I got from my recruiter last year. But, then again, who knows.

Where is your recruiter?

Hey kdazzle,

I believe the applicants are from all over the country :eek: . It does seem like so few slots left. There were two other people on here that were applying for the boards but they haven't posted in a while. What is your backup plan (if y ou don't mind me asking)? I have no backup, so it would be interesting to hear. Talk to ya soon.

hello everyone,
got a question. when applying for the 2012 nurse corp selection boards, are all the applicants all over the country competing with eachother or do you compete with just your region? i was told there were only 22 slots and if we are competing with the whole country-OMG! waiting on an answer sucks. my recruiter has a back up plan for me if i dont get picked the first time for the med/surg but hopefully I do, and good luck to everyone else as well. talk to you all soon.

The board already met (I believe on the 8th of this month) and the release date from what my recruiter said is Feb. 24th. Did you submit an application for this board?

my recruiter is from wright patteson in dayton ohio. who is your recruiter? I am so anxious I cant stand it! I am going to be soooo heart broken if I dont get picked. my interview went so well and the colonel had nothing but awesome feedback and compliments to say to me. it just boggles my mind to try to think of exactly what the selection board is looking for. It is what it is though. what is meant to be will happen i guess.

hello ATLRN0828,

well, if i dont get picked for these boards that we are all waiting on to hear, my recruiter told me that he was gonna submit my packet in june's selection board for labor and delivery. this area was another interest of mine. i have no L&D experience so if i would get picked for that then after COT training, then i would have to go to a 13 week NTP type training. I am really hoping to get picked first time around though (who wants to get rejected?) you know what i mean? LOL.

I totally agree with you on both points....it is heart broken to be rejected, but rejection is part of the process. Nontheless, I hope that all of us get selected. Good luck to everyone.

Oh ok kdazzle,

That's good that you have a backup. No thank you for me on L&D though, lol. I guess I would just resubmit again if I didn't get picked. But I hope we all get picked the first go around too. So far I have counted 6 of us on here that are applying. So I guess we will see next week, if all goes well.
