Selected for urine test and used hand sanitizer

Nurses Recovery

Published

So I usually use hand sanitizer and never had a problem but now I'm worried because I stupidly sniffed my hand to see if they still smelled like gloves after I used it. Right after I did that I had instant regret. I'm worried I'll test positive for alcohol now. I've never drank since I've been in a recovery program. And I don't have a substance problem. Do yall think I'll be positive? Should I go pee a few times before I test? Any info is helpful.

Right I agree cause we can't really afford to get sick or be hospitalized! Can't wait for this to be over as well!

I had emergency surgery while in the program and did not suffer any setbacks. My medical team provided a complete record of the surgey and all medications used or to be used after the surgery and for how long. The diversion evaluation committee had no issues and didn't even order additional testing.

From what I understand these programs have gotten worse as time passes. There is literall no oversight in to costs or how the programs run, So yhey do run roughshod over peoples lives and it's a shame,

Wow. I don't know if I'm "Allowed " to have elective surgery but plan to do elective and routine surgery when this is all done I will need short term pain medication after the surgeries and I'm honestly concerned the powers that be track our prescription meds when we are done.

I'm not in this for  opiates by the way

You're sure? I just want needed and elective surgery.  I would hate for them to say hey, you took 4 days of some pain medicine so you have to drug test and go to meetings forever. They destroy our files I think 10 years after  I worry they will track prescription medication for those 10 years or life. I want a breast reduction which actually is necessary and a nose job which will be my prize for finishing this.

In the wake of the Oxycontin disaster the federal govt maintains a data base of all opiates prescribed and to whom. In the case of pain management patients like myself my physician would be alerted if I attempted to get more than I am supposed to be taking. So not the BON but surely The Powers that be.

Correct.  I don't plan to take any extra or anything.  The powers that be wouldn't actually know you are a nurse or report you. I'm not afraid of the powers that be. I just want to be a regular patient.

They can not do u anything once u have completed the program! You are no longer u see contract or agreement

So I have to start checking in with recoverytrek(the urine test) November 1st. My last drink was August 20th and I believe I cooked with rice wine at the end of August also had a norco in July for sever menstrual cramps and Benadryl at the beginning of September. How far do these tests go... will I test positive. I'm getting tested while working so I don't want to lose my job. Please let me know.
