Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Published

Hi Everyone!

I'm starting this topic for those who are applying to 2nd-entry programs, to start in 2014.

A bit about myself:

I'll be applying to University of Ottawa and University of Toronto.

Graduated with a Social Science degree from Ottawa U w/ 7.2 CGPA (aka 3.33 on 4.0 scale, or a B+)

A lot of community involvement in health promotion, youth counseling programs, women's health research..

Currently taking the prerequisites...

I'm kind of nervous about the applications because I know how competitive these programs are... Any advice from current 2-year BScN students would be great!

Let's get this thread going

This question is for anyone that has already been accepted to Western. By which date do you have to send a deposit in? I am trying to determine when some possible spots might open up. Thank you very much in advance.

Hey, I was offered a spot in Western's program in late May (my gpa was just above 86%), but declined it. My deadline to accept/reject the offer was June 13th. I'm assuming June 13th was the deadline for a lot of ppl considering the bulk of Western's offers where in late May. I hope that helps & good luck.

THANK YOU for responding and decking :) lol. I have a small glimmer of hope that I am trying to hang onto….

I think more acceptances will come out tomorrow. Good luck to anyone who is still waiting to hear from a school or on a wait list. It is not over yet, keep your hopes up!!!

There is no deposit for Western. I accepted my offer and was not prompted to send a deposit. I, like you, thought there is one so I emailed UWO and they confirmed that there's no deposit required.

Thank you. And congrats on getting into Western!!

akpl have you heard from UofT yet as I remember you saying it was your first choice?

Is anyone still waiting to hear from Mac? I haven't head anything from them yet but from what I gathered from their twitter page it seems like everyone should have heard something by now...

Anyone??

from their twitter site..

"A lot of our offers have already gone out. If you're still waiting to hear from us, rest assured you will hear from us by May 29th."

Whats the cut-off for Queen's and Western?

I don't know the cut off average for Queens but I know for Western it was 86%
