Hi Everyone!
I'm starting this topic for those who are applying to 2nd-entry programs, to start in 2014.
A bit about myself:
I'll be applying to University of Ottawa and University of Toronto.
Graduated with a Social Science degree from Ottawa U w/ 7.2 CGPA (aka 3.33 on 4.0 scale, or a B+)
A lot of community involvement in health promotion, youth counseling programs, women's health research..
Currently taking the prerequisites...
I'm kind of nervous about the applications because I know how competitive these programs are... Any advice from current 2-year BScN students would be great!
Let's get this thread going
Yeah I have heard that the applicant pool is very high this year…it scares me because i think next year will just be worse!!!
It's so scary!!! Western was my first choice too and I was so disappointed to find that they only consider grades! There's so much more to a person and how can just grades determine someone's ability to be a good nurse!! Now just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best with UoT.
luck_r, sorry to hear about the bad news. i hope there will be people turning down their offers so more spots can be open. i was just wondering if you know the cut off gpa for york this year. your gpa seems to satisfy their requirements. I'm so scared i won't get into anything next year as my gpa is just around the same as yours
lalalene, i actually haven't applied to any of the programs yet. I will be going into my 4th year of undergrad in the coming September so I was just wondering if anybody has an idea of where the cut offs are at right now so I can have an idea of where I stand. I am super nervous, I didn't know the 2nd entry programs are this competitive until I started doing research this year

I unfortunately didn't apply to York, but I'm really regretting that.
