I've been a reader of these message boards for some time and thought I'd finally start participating. I didn't see a thread for the SU APNI 2011 application process, so I thought that as the deadline is this week I would start a thread and see how everyone's process went. I'm interested in the primary care np track myself.
I hope the rest of the big envelopes make it to you all soon!
And (not that this will surprise anyone), because I'm a geek and excited...and am procrastinating on getting some work done, I got a facebook group going "Seattle University Nursing APNI 2011" for anyone who decides to "accept" and go to Seattle U. If you are admitted, want to join, but decide to go elsewhere just make sure you unsubscribe from the group so it ends up being just the actual Summer 2011 cohort when classes begin.
Can't wait for more good news to get posted!
Unfortunately I got waitlisted for the AGNP speciality I tried calling today but I can't get through. I was thinking about emailing them but I figure it's best to actually talk to someone over the phone? For anyone that has talked to someone in admissions, do you know if they use a ranking system for the alternate list and how many people are on the waitlist? Does everyone who interviewed get waitlisted if they don't get accepted?
When I interviewed, she said that in the event that I am placed on the waitlist, that I shouldn't let that discourage me since they typically take 50% of the ppl on the waitlist. I just hope that I can be one of those people. Here's to wishful thinking...
I am on the waitlist for CNM and I called on Monday (if you go back a couple pages, you can see what they told me. They also told me they have a little less than the number in each specialty on the waitlist for that track. She said they don't have a numbered waitlist. I would call the school of nursing directly (not graduate admissions), they were very helpful when I called. Oh, and she also said that not every one that interviewed is on the waitlist. Good luck to you!
I just talked to Kaitlyn and she said that people will most likely not hear about getting admitted from the waitlist until late April - although it is possible they may hear earlier. It also sounds like they don't rank the people on the waitlist, they just review everyone's files if they need to choose someone. She also said that some years they use the waitlist extensively and some years not at all. I am trying to be hopeful - the midwifery specialisation is new, so maybe SU is not people's first choice. On the other hand, midwifery tends to be a highly competitive specialisation. Good luck to everyone!

I wonder if they sent out the letters in waves? Doesn't seem likely. If anyone feels like calling... they will be open for another 15 minutes. I'm in class now....
