Seattle University -- APNI 2011

Published

I've been a reader of these message boards for some time and thought I'd finally start participating. I didn't see a thread for the SU APNI 2011 application process, so I thought that as the deadline is this week I would start a thread and see how everyone's process went. I'm interested in the primary care np track myself.

I cannot get any work done today... was thinking the seattle peeps would have heard something by now?

I have an exam tomorrow and a project due Wed. and I haven't been able to concentrate thinking about not receiving the e-mail. But you all were right!! I totally jumped the gun!! A large white envelope just slid through my mail slot!! :)

One good thing about the mail slot in the door is that nobody had to see me sitting there all day!

Congrats to all that have found out they're accepted so far! I took the weekend to feel sorry for myself that I'm on the waitlist, but I'm feeling better now. I called today for more information and learned that 8 have been accepted for the CNM track and less than that number are on the waitlist for CNM (she couldn't tell me my place on the waitlist or the exact number of people on it). She said that last year ALL on the waitlist were offered admission, although some were offered right at the start because of some drops. She also said the year before they only had a few from the waitlist accepted, so I guess it could go either way. I'm holding out hope for SU because it's really where my heart is even though I've had to put in my deposit to PLU, I guess it is good for me that the schools are somewhat close to eachother.

Well, I live in Seattle and I got my letter on Saturday. I am waitlisted for the CNM track. I am really dissapointed and so frustrated with myself for not having a backup plan. I was really clear that SU was the right program for me, and so I put all my efforts into making it happen. Lots of tears the last two days...

If anyone manages to find out whether the waitlist is numbered, or how that works, I would love to know. Best of luck to all who are waiting to hear, and congrats to all those accepted!

Congrats Beeb and Mef!

7Blues- I definitely feel your pain! I got my letter on Saturday (after I was waiting for the mailman to leave, I'm so glad he wasn't there when I checked it!). I spoke to Kaitlyn Mallory at the School of Nursing and she was very encouraging about the waitlist, I hope reading what I wrote above will make you feel better, like it did when I heard it. I suggest calling her also, she seemed very open to answering all the questions I had.

Thanks jbsu! We must have been typing at the same time! Your info helps!

Praise God!!! I just found out that I've been admitted!!!

Yeah!! Congrats MSW!

Congratulations to all who have recently received admission letters and waitlist letters!

I know that this was a tight timeline for you to get the decision, MSW530 [FNP]! I'm really happy for you because I know that you really wanted to go to Seattle U!

beebopdre [AGNP], I'm so glad that you got a letter....and in the same track as I applied to, AGNP! (right?) If the same fate is in store for me as MSW530 (after the 'email-gate' scandal....haha), then I guess we'll be classmates the whole way through! Phew....at least we can say for certain that not getting that email doesn't tell you anything!

And also, I'd want to pick your brain asatre [PMHNP], when we get into 2nd year. I have a strong love for mental health, and have been in the field for about 5 years...eventually I'd like to do a certificate/DNP in PMHNP as well. :-)

Congrats, again, mef06011 [CNM]! I know that once you visit Seattle, you'll make your decision within an hour or two!! Take some pictures, and let me know if you need so pointers on transport/places to see.

For jbsu [CNM] and 7blues [CNM], I really feel that my comments earlier to angeljs12000 [AGNP] apply to you both as well. Like I said before, I have friends on both coasts who have finished or in the process of going to MSN programs and were initially on the waitlist. There will be movement at some point, I'm sure! I know that you all would make great classmates and I hope several folks have already decided to go elsewhere, and decline their offers ASAP!!

To all those waiting still for official word (and...that includes me!), hopefully the torture ends soon, and much more good news gets to be posted here soon!

MSW - did you call them... or check your mail? in truth... I've been afraid of opening my mailbox...

Hi everyone,

I am new to this thread but have been reading it almost everyday for the past couple weeks... but I got into the FNP track! (I got my letter in the mail today- and I live in the Seattle area)

I was wondering if anyone else has been admitted to both PLU and SU and if anyone in either program has some recommendations/ reasons to choose one or the other. I thought I was set on PLU but now I have no idea.

Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone waiting and waitlisted!
