I've been a reader of these message boards for some time and thought I'd finally start participating. I didn't see a thread for the SU APNI 2011 application process, so I thought that as the deadline is this week I would start a thread and see how everyone's process went. I'm interested in the primary care np track myself.
Last year this event was open to both accepted and waitlisted students. I encourage all in either of those categories to attend (if invited, of course). You get to tour the Clinical Performance Lab, which will make you excited to start! You also get the chance to meet quite a few faculty members. Talking with them can give you a good sense of the program, and might help you make your admissions decision. It is definitely worth taking time out from studying from an anatomy exam for.For those accepted, I was on the phone with the nursing department today and there is going to be an accepted students open house on March 17th! Unfortunately its on a Thursday night...and I have an anatomy exam the next day, but more info will be going out shortly!

I went and visited this week and saw the lab it was amazing! And don't worry if I lived in the Seattle area I definitely would have taken a big break but my anatomy exam is at 8 am in Connecticut. :)
I totally recommend going to see the school and the lab. It made my decision an easy one. If anyone else decides on Seattle join the facebook group!

I'm glad that it was a good experience at Seattle for you, mef, and not just "better than Vandy". :-) I also got a quick, impromptu tour of the lab while I was in Seattlw for the interview and I loved it. I'll be making my once-and-for-all decision about SU on the 23rd when my boyfriend finds out if he got his residency in Seattle, but it looks like ill be joining you in June mef!
Also I second her encouragements to have anyone who has decided to go to SU to join the Facebook group. Just search for "Seattle U APNI 2011" there. There has to be more out there!

Well, I went and visited Vanderbilt this weekend, and they made my decision super-easy. It's officially Seattle for me!
I'm so excited! I'll be moving cross-country, and will definitely be looking for roommates, so if anyone's interested in looking for a place, pm me!
Best of luck to all still waiting!
