Seattle University -- APNI 2011

U.S.A. Washington

Published

I've been a reader of these message boards for some time and thought I'd finally start participating. I didn't see a thread for the SU APNI 2011 application process, so I thought that as the deadline is this week I would start a thread and see how everyone's process went. I'm interested in the primary care np track myself.

Well, I went and visited Vanderbilt this weekend, and they made my decision super-easy. It's officially Seattle for me!

I'm so excited! I'll be moving cross-country, and will definitely be looking for roommates, so if anyone's interested in looking for a place, pm me!

Best of luck to all still waiting!

Thanks Pink,

I'm doing CNA now. I had good letters of recommendation. Probably I have to do more volunteer and write a better personal statement which matches their mission. Keep me posted on what will you do next. Have you applied for any RN or BSN? What is yr BS in?

Im going for my RN now, starting in fall as soon as I get all the paper work done. I'll get to an MSN eventually, just gotta take a longer route (: Congratualations on getting accepted for those that did and good luck!

Hey Folks - Give a shout on here if you hear of any movement off of the waitlist. Good luck to all!

For those accepted, I was on the phone with the nursing department today and there is going to be an accepted students open house on March 17th! Unfortunately its on a Thursday night...and I have an anatomy exam the next day, but more info will be going out shortly!
Last year this event was open to both accepted and waitlisted students. I encourage all in either of those categories to attend (if invited, of course). You get to tour the Clinical Performance Lab, which will make you excited to start! You also get the chance to meet quite a few faculty members. Talking with them can give you a good sense of the program, and might help you make your admissions decision. It is definitely worth taking time out from studying from an anatomy exam for. You don't have to stay the whole time--just go for an hour.

Angelis,

You didn't get accepted?!!! Man, why?! I'm so sorry. RN is a good route to start with I'm working on my CNA for the application. Email or sth so I now what yr plan is next. Tnx

lolita- my BS is in pyschology

I went and visited this week and saw the lab it was amazing! And don't worry if I lived in the Seattle area I definitely would have taken a big break but my anatomy exam is at 8 am in Connecticut. :)

I totally recommend going to see the school and the lab. It made my decision an easy one. If anyone else decides on Seattle join the facebook group!

I'm glad that it was a good experience at Seattle for you, mef, and not just "better than ". :-) I also got a quick, impromptu tour of the lab while I was in Seattlw for the interview and I loved it. I'll be making my once-and-for-all decision about SU on the 23rd when my boyfriend finds out if he got his residency in Seattle, but it looks like ill be joining you in June mef!

Also I second her encouragements to have anyone who has decided to go to SU to join the Facebook group. Just search for "Seattle U APNI 2011" there. There has to be more out there!

Anybody any word from SU lately? Do we know when we may find out waitlist info? I sent an email inquiry but have yet to hear back...

Banana - I think we won't begin to hear about waitlist movement until mid-April, but let us know what you find out!

Hey does anyone know how many people SU admits into each section? Anybody turning down their acceptance?

Cheers!
