Seattle U - APNI 2012

Published

Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).

Whose email is that? I thought it was a general email at the nursing department. What's the name of the person and the position?

It is our contact in the nursing department (I don't think we're allowed to post names here). If you call the nursing department, a message will say to email her for questions about APNI. Or you can look here Seattle University - College of Nursing - Contact Us. But that email works, I promise!

Ok, sent! Let's see if they will answer today still..

That Powell story was so disturbing and upsetting. :( Horrific.

this is what i got in reply:

thank you for your email.

if you are an apni or msn applicant, please note we are currently finishing our review of applications. we appreciate your patience and will begin notifying those selected for an interview the week of february 13.

Thanks for writing, Calinca. The waiting continues...

Wow, they really are waiting until the last minute considering interviews start 2/20! Thanks for emailing! I emailed the main nursing email address and haven't received a reply yet, so good to hear to got a reply and I can stop obsessively checking my email (although I still will be because UW sends out essay invites today!) but Seattle U is definitely my top pick, although I'll be more than estastic to get in anywhere! So competitive!

Does anyone know for sure that the 350 applicants are for the APNI program or could it be for APNI and MSN together?

I am not sure if it is for both MSN and APNI but I do know that they barely take any MSN students. My cousin was going to transfer from her APNI program (she wanted to transfer because her program went from 2.5 years to over 4 years in length) and the faculty told her not to bother as they only take on a couple of MSN students.

So we can hope that a ton of MSN people applied, but I am doubting it. I am wondering at this point if many people who applied to other programs have dropped out though because they have accepted offers elsewhere. We can hope!

Super bummed we won't know until next week. Looking at previous years, this really is pretty late for them.

I wonder if they would tell us how many applied, how many they plan to interview, and how many they'll accept?

I'll send another email.. at this point, I have no shame. ;)

Calinca, you're the best.
