I don't know how many people interviewed or how big the cohort is going to be but I heard it's pretty small for the WHNP program. I'm guessing 5 to 7 people, which it would be great. I interviewed with the same person as you did. I hope we do hear on Friday, that would be wonderful. Good luck to you too!

I'm joining this thread late but I interviewed for WHNP and I loved the experience. I live in Seattle so it was online. She told me 2-3 weeks to hear back. Anyone else applying for women's health?

    Psych nursing interview

Hello everyone, Would someone please find some time to help a student? :) I'm taking Mental Health this quarter and one of our assignments is a professional interview. I can be any Mental Health professional: nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc. I should also say that I really appreciate your help. This is a huge favor that I am asking. I hope you can find some time on your - I'm sure - very busy schedule. This is not a homework in a way that I have to do work myself before discussion (other than asking questions and think about the answers), it's an interview. We are supposed to find professionals in the area, ask them questions about the future of Psych nursing and discuss those in class. Our instructor asked us not to ask anyone from our clinical site, so I am in a bind because I only know one person in the area (ANRP) and I'm having problems contacting her. It can be anonymous, of course, but the more you give me, the more we can discuss in class. I may ask more questions depending on what is answered, but this is what I have so far: Questions: 1) What are your roles and responsibilities? 2) What do you consider to be the trends in mental health? 3) What do you consider to be the challenges in mental health? THANK YOU so much - I'm enjoying this quarter very much!

    Psych Professional Interview (for school)

I should also say that I really appreciate your help. This is a huge favor that I am asking - I apologize for my quick and dry opening post. I've been looking for a recent LWIT thread but cannot find anything. Who else was accepted at Lake Washington? :)

    The "Differently Abled" Nurse Speaks

Thank you so much for this. You wrote it beautifully and I liked especially the mentioning of different genders. We have quite a ways to go.

Conniferous, if you have a strong argument for wanting to be in the FNP track, you will make it. GPA is definitely a black and white situation, they will see your application as a whole. A lot of people who feel ambivalent about their goals might change tracks and I guess that's the purpose! Don't do it if you can explain both in the essay and at the interview why this is so important to you. I didn't have much to submit because I am reapplying, but I am also finishing my letter and I should be all done. I am just waiting feedback from peer reviewing and hopefully I feel good about the final product. :) You are going to be just fine, I promise! :)

Hi lindsay, My gpa was 3.6 when I applied - I've been taking a bunch of courses this year, so I'm sure that has changed. BUT, yes, I don't think they look at scores so much, I believe the scores are a way to just make sure you can deal with the coursework. If someone has a bad gpa they should still apply! I believe the personal statement is key to get the interview though. Hope this helps!

Knightr4, welcome! They have presential info sessions every once in a while and also one podcasted. I'm remember listening to it last year but now I don't seem to find it. It doesn't matter what kind of bachelor degree you have, but what you have been doing outside of school matters a lot, i.e. how do you give back to people? Read the school mission and think if your life in general matches with it. Then go from there.. CNA work will give you a lof of patient contact which is great, but together with clinical skills you should have a good understanding what social justice is and how you are going to change the world with you degree. Basically: how can Seattle U help you achieve your goals? What do you bring to the school? Hope that helps!

Sandrabeth, these threads helped me in more ways than one, that's why I keep coming back - and reading posts like yours really keep me going. I hope I can learn from my mistakes and that the lessons that I learned can benefit all of you too. I would be delighted to be your classmate, I already can tell. I hope I pass the interview this time. :)
