SD New Grads: Jobs Available!!!

Published

Okay Ya'll!!!

After ready about how NO ONE will hire new grad RN's,graduating w/ my BSN, and studying for the NCLEX in August '11, I have had it!!!

Where we start working may not be where we end up in 20 years, people. There are so many opportunities out there for new grads, it is staggering:idea: I made it my business to look for and succeed at landing a RN job and

I DID!!! Look at these gems:

*All Skilled Nursing Facilities

* Cancer Clinics

* Hair Club For Men (YES!!! THEY WANT YOU!!!)

* DaVita Dialysis Centers (They train (and make a big DEAL about it) and they WANT new Grads

* Frensius (sp) Dialysis Centers

* La Jolla Home Healthcare (Look at he site, they WANT new grads,too)

* Clinics in general

* Rehab hospitals

*CRAIGSLIST Healthcare (be careful)

* ALL SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES (oh, I wrote this one first :yeah:)

Please check these places out these places. The key is experience; we all need it, yet don't abuse it, get at least 9 months-1year of experience or more.

Don't forget we will ALL be Elderly one day; just sayin'

If anyone else has anymore examples of NEW GRAD WELCOME jobs, PLEASE post them, ALL is appreciated!!!

Thanks All :D

Good Luck,

Lotus1972

Specializes in Obstetrics.

You guys have all inspired me. Thanks! :)

Are you starting on the 4th? Looks like we will be co-workers :) I am wondering why they are hiring so many new grads.

Well, Craziechiq. It's because we are AWESOME!!!

What better person to train an RN "The Alvarado Way" than a new grad; with NO baggage, NO history, and NO nasty ways. WE DON"T KNOW ANYTHING (this is in a GOOD way, not bad). That is just my :twocents:, of course...

Paradise Hospital in Chula Vista also hires :yeah:NEW GRADS:yeah: with no experience. This is from the lips of a hiring Nurse Manager. Check them out, too. As always, correct me if I'm wrong!!!

I sit for my boards on Weds Aug 11th... I'll be out there with YA'LL!!!

Good Luck, Ya'll!!!

Specializes in Telemetry.

Very true we are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the real reason Alvarado is hiring so many new grads is because we are also cheap and they're all about saving money. Nonetheless I think it's a great stepping stone to get some experience and then move to a better job......

Be very proud of yourself for getting a job in this tough market!!!! :yeah:

Oh no don't get me wrong, I am super happy about it! I never thought I could get a job one month after taking the NCLEX. I'm glad there are still hospitals in San Diego willing to give us a chance! I think new grads make great nurses. We are fresh out of school, easy to mold, and passionate about working.

Rollie, will you be on days or nights?

And Lotus, you are correct are Paradise Valley. They are under Prime as well. The class that graduated the year before me got jobs at Paradise.

Pacifica Medical & Home Health!!

Pacifica Medical & Home Health!!

YES, Abbie0!!!

I know that there are more, stay tuned...

Congratulations, Rolliepolee and craziechiq! Good luck at Alvarado!

I was wondering if on Plaksa you noticed any status changes on the "status update" section before you were interviewed.

And, Lotus1972, good luck on your NCLEX, I'm sure with your positive attitude and great energy you will do great!

I know craziechiq, I feel the same way! I'll be on days. You?

I think after a day, my status became "active," and someone had "viewed" my application. The dept that actually called was not the one that viewed my application...so don't worry about how many times it was viewed or which posting it was viewed for too much. After that, it was all about phone calls.

Congratulations, Rolliepolee and craziechiq! Good luck at Alvarado!

That is very inspiring!!!!! Do you happen to know what cancer clinics? I've done a search and can't seem to find any.

Thanks!!!

Lisa:)

Hi Lisa!!!

Try these:

Salk Cancer Institute

Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute

Moores Cancer Center (associate with UCSD, so I am not sure if you have to go through a "new grad program":down:

Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (in Orange, CA)

The Gerson Institute

San Diego Cancer Center

This is a list of the Big cancer centers, I am unaware of any small clinics that specialize in cancers; I'll keep a look out for those, too...

I hope this helps a little, I have not called these locations, but it is worth a shot...

Off to more info, Ya'll!!!

Keep Ya' Heads Up!!!:yeah:
