Okay Ya'll!!!
After ready about how NO ONE will hire new grad RN's,graduating w/ my BSN, and studying for the NCLEX in August '11, I have had it!!!
Where we start working may not be where we end up in 20 years, people. There are so many opportunities out there for new grads, it is staggering:idea: I made it my business to look for and succeed at landing a RN job and
I DID!!! Look at these gems:
*All Skilled Nursing Facilities
* Cancer Clinics
* Hair Club For Men (YES!!! THEY WANT YOU!!!)
* DaVita Dialysis Centers (They train (and make a big DEAL about it) and they WANT new Grads
* Frensius (sp) Dialysis Centers
* La Jolla Home Healthcare (Look at he site, they WANT new grads,too)
* Clinics in general
* Rehab hospitals
*CRAIGSLIST Healthcare (be careful)
* ALL SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES (oh, I wrote this one first )
Please check these places out these places. The key is experience; we all need it, yet don't abuse it, get at least 9 months-1year of experience or more.
Don't forget we will ALL be Elderly one day; just sayin'
If anyone else has anymore examples of NEW GRAD WELCOME jobs, PLEASE post them, ALL is appreciated!!!
Thanks All
Good Luck,

Hi All,Thanks to this thread, I have an interview next week at Alvarado! I was so thankful for a thread with a positive outlook for new grads in San Diego because I (like many others) have been getting so frustrated searching for positions! For those of you who got jobs at Alvarado, are you liking it there? Pros and cons of the job? And I would also love to hear any advice or tips on what to expect with the interview process....Thanks in Advance!! And congrats to those of you who have gotten jobs!
how did your interview go??? are they still hiring? :\
Hey Panda,
First of all, congrats on getting an interview and good luck. The interview process was actually really simple, especially compared to the rigorous sharp and scripps interviews. You will meet with the unit managers, just the two, and they are nice. It's just the basic questions such as strongest and weakest qualities. By the end of the interview, she pretty much told me I had the job and sure enough, the next morning HR called me. Take a deep breath, be confident and act professional. Don't forget to ask them questions too. It is an interview on both ends. Good luck again!
Hi yogiboy,
My interview went all right. Well, at least I think it did. They asked the typical questions: tell me about yourself, strengths/weaknesses, future goals, etc. I applied for the Med/Surge position, and I am a New Grad as well. I didn't get the notification though telling me that I needed a minimum of 1 year...
