Hi everyone, I know this thread is a bit old but I just wanted to know what the new-grad experiences are like for RN's and the COL. What are the nurses like on the unit? I would love to be in labor and delivery. I'll be moving from Toronto so is the wage enough to keep an affordable life style? Thanks for all your help.

Oh sorry, I meant Women's Pavilion...which is under TCH not sure if the Women's Hospital and Women's Pavillion is the same. There were a lot of positions that didn't specify they needed experience and some that just said experience preferred but I applied anyway. Thanks for the heads up about the 5 application limit. I didn't know there was one but I've applied for more than 5 so hopefully they don't freeze my account. I'll stop for a bit. Thanks for the help!

Ahhh so another waiting game. Well I applied to every single position that had LD/OB Women's Health on the TCH website so hopefully something pushes through. Is the one doing the interview the one you met in person? The move is supposed to be March 26 so everyone's probably on their feet trying to get things organized and stuff. Just wondering if you've heard back from her yet for an interview? And I was wondering if I can get her name. I've been trying to call but I guess I always call during the wrong time. I'm not from Houston or else I would've made the effort to go in personally. The nurse manager seems really nice. Every time I walk into a nurse manager's office in the Bay area they direct to apply online and won't even accept my resume *sigh.

If you want to know whether you've passed the NCLEX, try to re-register during pearsonvue. I haven't heard of anyone that this trick hasn't worked on. If you get an error message that means you've passed. If you continue to the "payment" page then you've been unsuccessful. Good luck!

I just got a call from one of the nurse recruiters saying that the recruiting manager would give me a call soon. I've searched online for typical questions they may ask but in terms of clinical and behavioural questions...is they anything specific they were asking about? (ie: medicine, clinical skills, prioritization, etc). What are the favourites to ask in terms of clinical questions? I'm very nervous and this is my first interview so I'm really worried about the clinical questions because I've been out of the field for a bit. I would appreciate any help or advice anyone has. Hey just wondering if you got your visa screen and how long it took. I'm in the process of completing mine right now but I've done my CES with CGFNS so is it not possible to use the same paper work for the education part? Any advice will help. Thank you! =)
