Okay Ya'll!!!
After ready about how NO ONE will hire new grad RN's,graduating w/ my BSN, and studying for the NCLEX in August '11, I have had it!!!
Where we start working may not be where we end up in 20 years, people. There are so many opportunities out there for new grads, it is staggering:idea: I made it my business to look for and succeed at landing a RN job and
I DID!!! Look at these gems:
*All Skilled Nursing Facilities
* Cancer Clinics
* Hair Club For Men (YES!!! THEY WANT YOU!!!)
* DaVita Dialysis Centers (They train (and make a big DEAL about it) and they WANT new Grads
* Frensius (sp) Dialysis Centers
* La Jolla Home Healthcare (Look at he site, they WANT new grads,too)
* Clinics in general
* Rehab hospitals
*CRAIGSLIST Healthcare (be careful)
* ALL SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES (oh, I wrote this one first )
Please check these places out these places. The key is experience; we all need it, yet don't abuse it, get at least 9 months-1year of experience or more.
Don't forget we will ALL be Elderly one day; just sayin'
If anyone else has anymore examples of NEW GRAD WELCOME jobs, PLEASE post them, ALL is appreciated!!!
Thanks All
Good Luck,
Lotus1972
this is an awesome thread, and definitely refreshing! i am a new grad lvn in riverside area, though... i did apply with (please do not name names of flu clinics per site owner - if you have questions please post in the help desk forum) and haven't heard anything back. also, every job ad posted, every snf, every doctors office around here is looking for a minimum 6 months experience. plus i have been unable to find any new grad programs anywhere! not even my "job placement assistant" from school has sent anything. any ideas?
jsllvn... thanks you very much :thankya:
it takes (please do not name names of flu clinics per site owner - if you have questions please post in the help desk forum) a little while to go through the apps. please be patient, it took them about a month or two to call me; the positions start in september...
i'm still looking, folks... it's a hunt!!!

I'm not sure they're looking for any particular qualification. I have an associate so I know they're not too picky about that. I had my ACLS and when I interviewed, the nurse manager was happy I had that. So maybe if you don't have that certification it might be good to have.My understanding is that they are still hiring people, so don't give up! They called me for an interview a few weeks after they viewed my application online.
Good luck!
I've been following this thread the past couple of days...what department did you apply for?? I'm attempting to apply to the tele and med/surg departments. Thanks for any info!
I just had an interview with Alvarado today. My first RN interview, so I was pretty nervous. I hope I got it!
By the way,
I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but I know Fresenius and DaVita want 1 year experience minimum. I know a manager at Fresenius and it's just apart of their policy.

I hope you get the job at Alvarado, Craziechiq!!!
I actually called the Davita company, and met a dude who was a new grad when got hired on at Fresenius. The good folks at Davita stated that there are locations that indeed hire new grad RN's, and it will say so in their online job posts. I have seen the New Grad okay, willing to train posts" but it was too far for me to travel. Check these sites out from time to time, something is bound to grab your attention. Good Luck, Again!!!
I am still hunting!!!

They are looking for new grads (make sure you have your license. I tried to SLLLLLLLIIIIIDE in there with a Temp License and they told me to return with my permanent (I take the NCLEX next month).
I don't know how much they pay, but, it's better than $0.00...
So, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen!!! HAPPY JOB HUNTING!!!
Lotus1972:D
Thanks Lotus1972. I laughed when I saw the ad for UNI through indeed.com. It says "Hiring new grad RN's!" at the top of the ad. If you scroll down it says "Please do not apply if you do not have one year nursing exp". What??? I guess the definition of "new grad" is now equal to "must have 1 year experience". So what is a new grad called with no experience? I'm befuddled by this.

They Grab you with "HIRING NEW GRAD RN'S" and then you fall down to Earth in flames with the proverbial..." Please have one year of experience!!! Wha??? Chile', if I had 1 year of experience, I wouldn't be still beggin' for a job, now would I????
:mad:Boy, we get it bad on both ends:mad:
AH, WELL, I ACTUALLY spoke to someone concerning such verbage and the Representative told me about other opportunities that they had in store. She said that they needed :yeah:NEW GRADS:yeah: for work in Blood Banks!!! After looking at my checking account dwindle, I am thinking of taking the NCLEX BEFORE mid August. More on that in another post.
