Scrubs & Shoes

Published

I'm just south of Boston but have no problem driving for a good store with plenty of options. Do any of you have suggestions?

I also like the pants with more of a bootcut type bottom, any suggestions on brands that are comfortable?

I have heard that clogs are comfortable but which brands and where can they be found?

I'm obviously new to the profession and need some good advice :)

Thanks!

I often go to Work N Gear, usually the one in Dedham. I am partial to Dickies flare pants, but there are lots of other brands out there. Also, I love my Dansko Professional Clogs. Hope this helps :D

There is a pretty good Work'N Gear at the Hanover Mall but I find that they can be expensive if you don't get the cheap brands or anything on sale. I bought some Dansko clogs there and I love them. I highly recommend them as they look really professional and they are comfy. I have found lately though that Walmart has a pretty decent selection and their prices are really good. I got 3 outfits and a top for about 80 bucks, whereas at Work 'N Gear a full price outfit is about 45-55 bucks. Too pricey! Good luck!

Not sure how far south you live but there is a Work N Gear in Dorchester and one in Quincy. There is also Uniforms for America in Watertown which isn't too far away. You can always order them online, too. I've always had good experiences with Lydia's online. There are lots of brands that sell flare leg pants. Some popular brands are Urbane, Cherokee, Dickies, and Grey's Anatomy, just to name a few.

Uniforms for America in Watertown is AWESOME. They have urbane scrubs 20% for a lot of the time, and I thats all I wear. They also have really cute print tops for just 10 bucks. I saw the same shirt at Work N Gear for $20.

Plus Danskos are the way to go for footwear. They kinda hurt me the first two weeks, but once I broke em in, they are heaven.

Alot of facilities will not let you wear clogs because of liability issues I have found. They are comfortable, yes, but I have found that a good pair of sneakers does the job for me. Also, try uniformcity.com, they have the best selection and often have sales and the clearance prices are excellant. I've purchased shoes from them as well, and I get alot of my holiday tops there too. Shipping is reasonable and fast. Good luck and welcome aboard!!!

I like Izzy scrub bottoms by Peaches. They are wider in the legs and dont have that slit that runs up the side( I just cant stand the slits.) great variety in petites.

Also new to the field, but I've actually found that I really like the scrub pants that Walmart sells. I tried on a few different pairs at WorknGear, but prefer the Walmart pants. Lots of colors, bootcut leg and are pretty soft before washing! Only problem is finding smaller sizes for some reason, so I've had to stop at a few stores to build my collection!

I get the majority of my scrubs from http://www.uniformadvantage.com I find websites have a wider variety of sizes ie. sm tall pants/ petite sizes, I'm on my 2nd pair of slip on easy spirit sneakers, just love em! even after 12hrs on my feet no blisters, great support.
