Scripps New Grad Nurse Residency 2013

Published

Hello fellow new grads!

I'm starting this post to round up all the applicants for the 2013 cohort at Scripps in San Diego. I called HR today and they were rather tight-lipped about when the application would post, and was told "It will post in about 30-45 days" and to "keep checking the website". Enlightening, isn't it? Also to those who applied for the last round and will be re-applying, any tips you want to share for us newbies? thanks and I look forward to hearing from everyone that's just as stressed as I am.

Specializes in Hospice & Palliative Care, Oncology, M/S.

Maybe they're working backwards. Chins up, folks.

To everyone who's status has changed to "Applicant review" , do you all have experience and/or a BSN?

I have a BSN and the only experience I have is working as a caregiver for home health and 2 months as a RN doing vaccinations.

Specializes in Near Future: ED, Future Future: ACNP!.

I'm going to go on a hunch that there are multiple people working on them. No basis for saying that...just wishful thinking.

Oh how I hope you are right ExPharmaGirl!!

I have a BSN, but no healthcare work experience. I just graduated from an accelerated program in August.

Specializes in School Nursing, Public Health Nurse.

Yes I have a BSN and lots of volunteer experience.

I submitted mine around noon on the first day. Mine changed to applicant review at some point yesterday.

I applied the first day before noon and it still says submission received :(

I graduated in Aug 2010 with an ADN! Yes that's right over 2 years ago!! I had an 8 month externship in Tele which turned into a RN job but I never started because I had to relocate to So Cal for my husbands job. I did not qualify for the last cohort with Scripps because I had been out of school to long with no refresher course. They said I needed my BSN so that I would have a "new" New Grad date. I have been volunteering for Scripps and Palomar for the past 8 months. I am finishing my BSN this month and got my app in for Scripps by 9am. Fingers crossed!!

I can also relate! I moved to SoCal for my husbands job and THEN we moved out of the country for his job. I'm back and in school for my BSN right now. I graduated in 2011.

Good luck!!
