Scripps New Grad Nurse Residency 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello fellow new grads!

I'm starting this post to round up all the applicants for the 2013 cohort at Scripps in San Diego. I called HR today and they were rather tight-lipped about when the application would post, and was told "It will post in about 30-45 days" and to "keep checking the website". Enlightening, isn't it? Also to those who applied for the last round and will be re-applying, any tips you want to share for us newbies? thanks and I look forward to hearing from everyone that's just as stressed as I am.

Congrats Christine! Lets hope some people decline offers!

Yeah I got the rejection email as well. Ugh. Oh well not too bummed bc I might have something else lined up... Congrats to everyone who got selected for the position and those selected as alternates

Thank you! Yes, definitely hoping for some declines in the next coming days...

I also received an "alternate" email...

glimmer of hope, but still bummed.

Alternates, based off previous threads most alternates did receive a position with Scripps. Not necessarily when the cohort started, some started after. You can either get a spot if someone withdrawals through the hiring process or sometimes they just open up more spots. For some it took a couple of months after being selected as an alternate to be given an offer. Hang in there! To all others DO NOT GIVE UP, you can take a break if you need to, I did. But do not give up on your dream and all of the hard work you did to become a nurse! This was my 5th application to Scripps and I finally got in!!

Thanks ctqlove for the information! I was reading up on past threads and they indicated the same thing. Just glad I'm still in the running....and CONGRATS to you. I can't even imagine going through this process again, let alone 5 times. You are inspirational!

I got the alternate email as well, I hope they have one of those extra programs and we will be chosen for one of those.

Ct glove--- I admire your persistence and thanks for the encouraging words

So... I just got an email that asked me to be an alternate. Anyone know what that means? What are the chances?? Anyone know anyone that was an alternate before and got hired!

I believe this means if anyone was to accept an offer then drop out before the program start date! So this is a good thing :)

I also got a call last night at 530 for a position at Mercy Hillcrest/San Diego! The lady made me decide right there and then which was a little intimidating. She said calls would still be going out today (Friday) so everyone keep your hopes up and your phones on! And be ready to answer immediately :)

@ peppered and Christine19
