Scripps New Grad Nurse Residency 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello fellow new grads!

I'm starting this post to round up all the applicants for the 2013 cohort at Scripps in San Diego. I called HR today and they were rather tight-lipped about when the application would post, and was told "It will post in about 30-45 days" and to "keep checking the website". Enlightening, isn't it? Also to those who applied for the last round and will be re-applying, any tips you want to share for us newbies? thanks and I look forward to hearing from everyone that's just as stressed as I am.

Wonder how many alternates they chose? And how will they decide who gets what if an opportunity arises?

I know it seems like a lot, 5 in this site I think. I assume there are a few alternates for each unit hiring!

I also got a call last night at 530 for a position at Mercy Hillcrest/San Diego! The lady made me decide right there and then which was a little intimidating. She said calls would still be going out today (Friday) so everyone keep your hopes up and your phones on! And be ready to answer immediately :)
congrats! ill be there too. do u know what unit?

They didnt say but I believe telemetry/dou (thats what all 3 of the managers interviewing me were haha)

ct glove -- you said based on previous threads most alternates ended up getting an offer. -- which thread was that, I haven't seen any mention of alternates before-- anyone know? Thanks so much

I imagine right now a lot of people who do accept job offers end up backing up because they get another offer either which they want more or closer to home mostly because it is "new grad program season" and all the new grad programs start in either February/March or August/September so every is applying everywhere...so if you got an alternate email that is MOST likely a good thing :)

I greatly hope so!

I guess we're all quietly waiting to see if anybody received offers today. Hehe.:)

Shars what unit in Chula Vista? I got Medical Acute. Anyone else get Chula Vista?

Hey B217! I'm in the same unit at Chula Vista! I imagine we will be spending a lot of time together. Are you from San Diego?

Anybody else get hillcrest?

Hey everyone!

If anyone hears from ------------- anything regarding alternates, please post on here. Thanks! I'm hoping most of us will get positions like the summer 2012 new grad alternates.
