Scripps New Grad Nurse Residency 2013

Hello fellow new grads!

I'm starting this post to round up all the applicants for the 2013 cohort at Scripps in San Diego. I called HR today and they were rather tight-lipped about when the application would post, and was told "It will post in about 30-45 days" and to "keep checking the website". Enlightening, isn't it? Also to those who applied for the last round and will be re-applying, any tips you want to share for us newbies? thanks and I look forward to hearing from everyone that's just as stressed as I am.

Good morning friends! Praying for you today. Congrats MynameRN. FYI, I am external with an ADN. Have LVN experience. That probably helped. Was an LVN for 5 years.

not to freak anyone out, but my panel told me that la jolla was not hiring this cohort. i have a feeling they will be making more calls today and tomorrow. don't lose hope!

Hey everyone-

I too have been stalking this thread since my interview. I interviewed on 11/26. I have an ADN but am enrolled to begin a BSN program next month. I also have 5 yrs hospital experience w/ Sharp and some volunteer experience w/ Scripps...all of which might not even make a difference. I applied back in the summer for the last cohort but never received an interview. Fingers crossed for all!!! My situation is a little bit unique....I am 6 months pregnant. So I went into the interview trying to disguise it- which I think was successful with a business suit. So even if I was offered a position...I obviously can't start in February since I am due in March...my only hopes is that they would let me defer until the next cohort in the summer- but I am not holding my breath for that either!!

Maybe La Jolla isn't hiring this round because they are doing a little pilot program that begins next month? I have a friend that interviewed back in June but didn't get a position, but they called her back last month to tell her that they are doing a new grad pilot program and wanted to re-interview her...she got the job this time around, but I think they only interviewed like 10 people and hired like 5 or 6....

Like I said- good luck to all!!! I am going to go workout so I don't obsess over all of this anymore!!!

if they started calling last night and they have under 60 applicants when do you think they would finish up calling eveyone?

No clue, but they've started calling again. I just got my call this AM for Mercy Hillcrest :) I know I was wondering everyone else's "stats" so here are mine: interviewed with 3 panelists, 2012 ADN grad, enrolled in BSN program, no prior hospital/nursing experience, or clinical experience with Scripps. Although it's a huge sign of relief, I'm still waiting for my friend to get her call (I know you're reading this!). Good luck!

Yeah I was told the same thing. That only 4 of the 5 were hiring this time.

Just talked to HR about my status disappearance and she said it could be due to a number of reasons including the fact that they are updating statuses, but for sure we will all know by tomorrow! Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Mine hasnt been up since the very get go...I don't know why haha I shoud've called i guess back then haha. But I mean I must be in the system because I got an interview...weeeiiird

Hey alywoo, do you know what unit your friend got hired into for the program starting in January? I am one if the six that got an offer. My unit is med onc at la jolla.
