Scripps Health New Grad Residency August/October 2023

Updated:   Published

Hi guys! Just wanted to start a post for the cohort for August/October 2023. Just curious if anyone would know the answer to this but it says on their FAQs PDF that there is only positions in units like med/surge or telemetry however during the application, there were choices like medical acute and surgical acute. Does anyone know if those units are hiring or not? And if we could apply to multiple units?

I don't but let us know if you learn anything. ?

OK now I see.
Currently it's a med surg interview for the people who applied 04/09-04/25

if you're interested in a specialty then they have different dates to apply also

Looks like MCH apps open tomorrow for the specialty

So if we do a transition program as a new grad, then it would be a separate application from the new grad residency? Or if you are accepted into the residency could you just transfer into the transition program?

Ya I'm not sure how that works but it does say new grads on the side so IDK ??‍♀️

I thought that was for new grads that completed the residency and want to advance to a specialty....lmk if that's true if anybody knows

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

Ahhh OK. I interviewed there on Thursday but I haven't heard anything yet. I don't feel like it went well though. They didn't smile at me once ?

OMG Same!! I interviewed for DEU med/onc on Thursday and one of them looked like she just couldn't wait for it to be over ?. My interview was like 15 mins...fastest interview in my life. But I'm keeping hope alive n praying she was just tired and I did OK??

That's what I thought. I thought we had to complete our new grad residency before applying to these. Because technically even after finishing the residency we are still considered new grads. I'm gonna do some research on their website LOL

Are you an internal applicant?

No. I accepted an offer Nov 2022 for January 2023 but could not start it and got delayed to April 2023, and couldn't start with that cohort so they moved me to Sept 2023.

Does anyone know when we would hear back by if we interviewed?

The recruiter informed me updates after interviewing should come the first week of June! Since they gave the team through the end of this month to finalize their interviews
