scores on cds for those who passed nclex

Published

I am still waiting for my ATT right now I am doing saunder's and I am getting around 65-70% each time and I am getting a little frustrated with it. I did Kaplan cd and got 72% and scored good on hesi. I want to take the NCLEX asap bc the anxiety is killing me. Are my scores good enough. I am doing 100 questions a day from Saunders.

i was averaging low 90's on my last 8 exams on the saunders CD but i found the actual NCLEX-RN exam more challenging than Saunders CD.....i found the actual questions and choices vague and more often than not, i could not make an educated guess on my last 2 choices.....the computer shut down at 75 and i was so depressed thinking that i failed and that i needed more questions to prove my nursing knowledge......i passed but i still could not believe it

some of my friends passed with low 70's and another passed with 68 average for her last 10 exam type on saunders CD......

i think getting a job here at the NY metro area would be more difficult than passing the nclex hehehe :lol2:

good luck to all taking the nclex in the future

I was getting 68-85% on Saunders. I took a few Kaplan trainer tests and got 63-72%. I took a Mosby CAT test and got 94% chance of passing. I took the ATI predictor for school and had a 98% chance of passing or above 72% I think...

Good luck!

Just be prepared for the wait AFTER the test. I think because it is set up to have you get 50% right you will come out thinking you did bad no matter what. If you can, don't let that get the best of you and just think positive until you see the results. The thing is, the above scores could have been all 100% and I would have still thought that I failed after taking that test. No one could have convinced me otherwise. If you at all can after taking the test, try not to think about it or stress until you see your results.

to tell you the truth, I came out of the test not thinking either way. I didnt feel I passed but I wasn't sure I failed. I thought the questions were alot like saunders but on some I couldn't even narrow it down to 2 . I got over 220+ questions could only really remember a hand full and only one word for word. I felt saunders did a great job preparing me as I had been out of school for 12 years with no nursing experience. The test makes everyone feel crappy I couldn't hold a conversation or focus my thoughts for about 4-6 hours after the test. I never want to take it again but I would have if I failed. All I can say is I am proof that Suzannes plan works!!!!!! read saudners and do questions.....lots of them!!!!!

I sure am thinking............"how the heck did I pass?" I dont care now though all I care about is having my license hanging of my refrigerator!!!!! wooohoooo!

Amy, were you required to take a refresher course of some type before you could sit for the NCLEX again (since so much time had passed since nursing school)?

To the OP, My goal was always to get at least 70% on any review material I used. I was able to do that the majority of the time... occasionally I'd hit the 90s on something and occasionally I'd hit the 60s on something.

In the fabulous state of Ohio you are not required to take a refresher course, you can take the test as many times as you like and there are no limitations! I was processed super fast and got my test schedule without any glitches. My university jetted my transcripts to the BON and I took my test found out 26 hours later I passed and within just a little over 48 hours total My license was in my mail box!! Hows that for service??????????

GO OHIO GO!!!!

P.S. I have had nothing but great encouragement from my family, my university nursing office, my state BON and most of all from all the wonderful people here at allnurses. You guys have been so great to me with all the wonderful Private messages I am just so totally overwelmed that people I dont really know care so much for my passing.

I am honored to be an encouragement to others! I am proof it can be done!

I did not do well on the HESI - we had no prep time for it - our school decided about two weeks before that they wanted to try it out on us a week before the end of classes. I think I scored 750 :( Right now I have been studying and reviewing. Each time I get an information question wrong, I make a flashcard and review the information. I have bben getting 60-75/80% on KAPLAN's CD.

If anyone has any advise I would love to hear it.

I thought the NCLEX was a little easier than the KAPLAN questios, however you are more than nervous when waiting for your results!:

I also did 100 questions a night and averaged 70% on Saunders. I passed the NCLEX with 75 questions. Don't worry about your scores, practice thinking through the questions. Good Luck!!

On average I scored in the 70's with Saunders.

I did horrible on the Hessi...didn't prepare.

I passed NCLEX on my first try.

Good luck.

I moved my nclex date up to June 20th b/c I feel any time after that really will be pointless because I would have to take it while I am in orientation and also the time would be around 3pm in the afternoon I don't feel that would be a good time since I would have been up since 6am. I feel that its best to take it now instead of waiting till later b/c alot of stuff is still fresh on my mind.
