Does anyone still wear their school pin? Or is the pin just a throw back to an earlier age?

i wear mine on my name badge everyday. since its not on my clothes there's little chance that it'll wind up in the laundry, and besides, on my badge, many more people tend to see it. it is lovely: gold and purple, my school colors.

Mine was stolen back in the late 70s.
School is no longer, merged into the University.
I saw some students of theirs at the VA last week giving flu shots. Their uniform is bright RED scrubs! Wow, I wish we'd had that option.
Oh, one option for replacement would be check the pawn shops around the school. There are plenty of rings, pins etc in most. My daughter got an Art Carved solid gold class ring there for about $60. It retailed for around 350 at the time.

I wear mine everyday on my name badge. I figure I earned it, I might as well show it off.

I used to have mine on the plastic id band on my stethescope, but I got a new steth, and haven't moved it over. But, in the recent re-organization of my house, I found it (I knew it was there, just needed to find the stethescope). I might move it, don't know.
It's very pretty.

I used to wear mine every day until I lost it. It was beautiful & I was very proud of it.
I checked to see if it could be replaced, but it was EXTREMELY expensive & I couldn't afford it at the time. I wish I could have!!

Sue,
I graduated in the 60's from St. Francis Sch of Nsg in Evanston. At the time there were few BSN programs. I did take a few classes at Loyola, but never did finish.
I saw your message. we go past there on our way to the South for vacation.

Does RN magazine still show pics of school pins? I remember years ago looking at all of them and was very impressed with the designs.
I wish I had my grandmother's nursing school pin. It was lost many years ago. I do have her nursing licenses though.
I used to wear my pin, but now I get to wear street clothes to my job, so I don't want to lose it in the wash.

I just graduated from LPN school in august and honestly I don't think anyone bought the school pin. they were pretty expensive. I decided to wait until I get my RN and then buy one.
