Good morning my fellow school nurse friends,
Guess I didn't get the memo, because the whole office staff is dressed like a character from The Wizard of Oz but me ! I like the Wizard of Oz. I'm a loner
! But any who, did any of you guys dress up today? HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
We had Halloween parties and a parade on Friday. I love "fall fest" day, the kids are all excited, their costumes are great, and no one fakes sick because the parties are at the end of the day! I wore a Ghostbusters jacket. I've seen lots of Halloween shirts and dresses today, but amazingly, no costumes.
Several of our teachers and our Principal and admin assistant dressed up at emojis. I wasn't "included" in this idea but it's all good. I got to wear my "You Don't Scare Me! I'm a School Nurse" shirt today!! I prefer it over a costume simply because, God forbid something happen, I want to be able to move! But I'm still festive and the kiddos always comment on my shirt so its a win!
Each grade here does their own theme. We had a group of the seven dwarves, there was a pack of playing cards, a group of emojis, salt and pepper, and the administrative staff were jellyfish...as usual I was left out. I sat in my office as Wednesday Addams, which none of the kids understood and apparently is so similar to my every day appearance that many of the adults didn't even notice...sigh.

We don't do Halloween either. It's called Orange and Black Day and the kids can wear Halloween tshirts, dresses, tights, etc. My 3rd graderr has on a bat dress with spiderweb leggings and my 1st grader has black leggings and a black tshirt with the word BOO on it that looks like it's written in neon green slime. The classes don't do "parties" or anything. Kindergarten makes candy corn hats. We're kind of boring.
