Why is it so............................?

Realy confused pls help!!!!!!

Specializes in cardiac, oncology.
There has not been Schedule A in any Bulletin since February of this year. It no longer exists, and RNs are under the EB-3 category with most other professions that require the Bachelor's degree.

This is the point that I have been trying to make for sometime, nurses are not currently being expedited in their processing for the green card. You are currently gtouped in with hundreds of thousands that are in the US on an H1-B visa in the IT field and are also waiting for the green card processing.

The H1-C is a special visa that is only for 15 facilities in the US, and it is definitely not a good thing. Never, ever recommend it.

Hi suzzane,

I am waiting for I 485 to be approved; before june 14 the processing date for I485 in texas service centre was sept 15 2006 now its March 15 2007.

what does that mean by.will i still be able to get green card or did they trash my application. what will happen to all nuses who were waiting for their 485 to be approved.

What the..... I chose ADN over BSN 2 years ago, because its elligibility for ADN RN applying GC. At the beginning, I wanted to apply BSN accelaration prgram for people who hold Bach degree, and I got one. But, because of money or financial reasons I chose ADN.

I hope I read the wrong post here, please edited if u were wrong.

thank's

You are just fine since you trained in the US, if you trained out of the US, the ADN would not be accepted for immigration. You are under the EB-3 category for nursing, and the ADN is accepted for that, only because you trained in the US.

What I posted above is correct for most that are applying for the green card; you are under a special circumstance. So there is no reason to edit it. If you look at the requirements for the EB-3, it states a Bachelor's degree, but you were under the Schedule A, and that is the two year degree for RNs. That is still in effect, if the training is done in the US, since in the US it is still a professional degree.

Take a deep breath.

thanks a lot for your explanation suzanne4 kindly suggest to all international nurses who have passed all relevant exams to immigrate to U.S. and their I-140 is still pending, and as you are not recommending H-1c visa,so what are the other option for all international nurses?just to wait and watch or we shall look job in other countries? please comment.

regards.

Things are still progressing, for those that do not actually have approval of the I-140, the retrogression does not even affect them. They are not even to that point.

If someone has a pending I-140, then the H1-C is not even an option, a contract has been signed with an agency/employer and the nurse would be walking from that contract, and therefore responsible for a large sum of money. The H1-C visas are only available in 15 hospitals in the entire United States. They are not a good thing for anyone, the work conditions are usually horrible, especially if in a border city. The only way that they can even attempt to bring nurses in under that is because they are so short staffed, and no Americans wish to work there.

If a foreign nurse wishes to work in the US, they have no choice but to wait. There is no way around that. And there are always going to be more nurses that wish to work in the US than there are going to be available visas. No one should expect that they are guaranteed a visa to work in the US just because they have passed the NCLEX exam and even have a Visa Screen Certificate. Many here that are posting have not one drop of experience, and as such, have signed with agencies that are not going to get things done in an appropriate timeframe, they do not need to. They are going to process when it is convenient for them, not for the nurse. So if someone truly needs a job now, then they are going to have to look at other venues. That is not my point of view, it is just how things are right now.

Schedule A did not disappear overnight, it is going now on six months since it has been gone from the Bulletins. Just that many of you were not aware of it, or never paid any attention to it. But it is definitely nothing new at all.

thanks a lot for your valuable comments.

You are quite welcome.

The Texas Service Center processing dates have been revised yet again yesterday with inclusion of Schedule A nurses. The dates have now moved from 1st August 2003 to 14th December 2006 for I-140s.

Great. Nebraska Service Center, likewise did the same. For Nebraska, it is now Aug. 2006 but both reports are still inaccurate. Our members have been reporting I-140s being reviewed on much later dates posted there. It' still a little bit off but it's good, nonetheless that they are trying to have accurate reports. Expect more revisions and updates from them. It should still move forward as some members here had already reported of much later dates that were already reviewed.

Thanks for updating us. ;)
