SCCC 2011 Ammerman Day Nursing Program

Published

This thread was started for everyone who will be attending the 2011 SCCC Ammerman Campus Day RN program. I think it might be worth it to have a thread especially for us, so that we can keep in touch with our fellow students, talk about issues that come up in class and help each other out when necessary.

if you are reading this now, you have probably been accepted into the program... Congratulations

Let's work together so that we can be the best both as students and in our future careers.

The paper we received in the mail about orientation lists a few different clinical sites than what is listed online. I wonder which one is correct.

Helllo,

Any one register for NUR101 91712 Long Island Veterans Home & Brookhaven

Tuesday 8am-2pm?

Yes, but at orientation the facility has been changed to Long Island Vets and Stony Brook.

Thanks kjm,

Can't believe I missed that! I'm so nervous, lol.

I'm going to be commuting from Huntington, So I'm happier with both clinicals being in Stony Brook.

Same here, I have to drop my son off at the daycare at Suffolk, so both those facilities are just up the road from there. I'm excited to start, but I want to enjoy the summer since they made it sound like it's a ton of work once we begin.

Is anybody taking a gym class?

I wasn't going to but after they mentioned that we should... I thought, what the hell. So I took a Pilates class. LOL. I can't wait to see those videos in Youtube. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I already took 2 gyms at Suffolk, yoga and hiking, I enjoyed both.

I registered for a yoga class just so I can be full time.

I took weightlifting and lifeguarding. Both were good. I especially liked the lifeguarding. It is not even a full semester and you get to swim twice a week. When you're finished you have the credit needed as well as a lifeguard certification, and first aid certification.

I did not sign up for a gym because I've already got 13 credits with the classes I have at this time. That qualifies as full time, right? Over 12 credits?

Yes it does. 12 is full time.

Did anyone buy any of their textbooks yet?
