This thread was started for everyone who will be attending the 2011 SCCC Ammerman Campus Day RN program. I think it might be worth it to have a thread especially for us, so that we can keep in touch with our fellow students, talk about issues that come up in class and help each other out when necessary.
if you are reading this now, you have probably been accepted into the program... Congratulations

Let's work together so that we can be the best both as students and in our future careers.
Hi everyone. Question about the background check. I did it online about 2 weeks ago and I haven't received anything in the mail from them.. Does it come to me in the mail or go straight to SCCC?
I ordered mine and the next day I received an email stating it was ready. I logged into my account, printed out the certificate and details page and brought it to Suffolk. As far as I know nothing comes in the mail, just stuff that has to be printed out, the lady that we have to bring it to at suffolk told me that I gave her the correct pages from the background check. You should log into your account at mybackgroundcheck.com and see if yours is ready.

Ok thanks.
Hey everyone! Enjoy the 4th! Be safe! And remember to get those medical forms in soon! I handed mine in a week ago and they give u a completion form that you need to bring to the first day of clinical. Made about 10 copies of the packet hahaha ones sitting in my car right now. Trying to get everything out of the way so I can enjoy the next two months! Anyone pay for the atitesting yet? Does anyone know if financial aid will cover it?

I have my appointment for a physical tomorrow, glad to be getting that out of the way, feels like there is so much that needs to be done to be ready for classes, one less thing on the list. I haven't paid for ati testing, not sure if financial aid covers it, if you find out let me know please. Am I the only one that hasn't purchased the books yet? I want to, but I've been low on money, hope to purchase soon as I want to get a start on the dosage calculations and first readings.
No KJM, I took Friday clinicals at Mather and Nesconset Nursing Home. Anyway, still feeling like there's so much to do and so little time. I also haven't bought the books yet, and have my physical scheduled for August 1st (talk about cutting it close) :brnfrt:.
Still, I can't wait to start the classes and actually get into the curriculum.
I was just looking at the Student Handbook and I have a question about the dosage calculation competency test. Does anyone remember when they said they give the test for Dosage calculation? Is it in the beginning of the semester? My math skills are definitely lacking and I need to brush up. Thanks.

I believe it's towards the end of the first semester.
Hellooo out there.
I don't know if anybody checks this site on a regular basis anymore but if by chance there is anyone that does... I got the letter from Ammerman today reminding us to get our books and finalize everything before class starts and just would like to know if anyone can make sense of the ATI website.
At the risk of sounding like a big dummy here is my situation. I paid the first years fee a couple of weeks ago and was trying to figure it out but just gave up in frustration. Again today I was trying to navigate around it and still cannot make sense of what we are supposed to do on that site. Where is the nurse logic section and what materials do they want us to purchase. Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

Wow I feel really behind, I haven't purchased any text books nor do I have my health forms filled out, but I do have the appointment to get a physical. I didn't want to start reading this early as it won't be fresh in my mind, unless I read it again I suppose. What I am worried about most is the dosage calculations. I don't usually have a problem with math, but the thought of being tested on information that we weren't really taught sounds scary.
