This thread was started for everyone who will be attending the 2011 SCCC Ammerman Campus Day RN program. I think it might be worth it to have a thread especially for us, so that we can keep in touch with our fellow students, talk about issues that come up in class and help each other out when necessary.

I have emailed both Wist and Coppa and no one bothered to answer. just to go over this once again what we need to bring:
> CPR, background check, Health forms
> wear nursing uniform
> questions from the orientation slides
do we need our textbooks?
I don't have clinical until Thursday so I assume I'll hear more on Wednesday on what we should have with us, not exactly sure. I actually thought we weren't meeting at the facility the first 2 weeks, but apparently that is incorrect. Sorry I can't help you, I'd be nervous if I had clinical tomorrow before we've met for lecture, good luck.

see its not just me ten. I thought we weren't going to the clinical facilities for another two weeks. When I got the email I totally panicked and went out and bought my scrubs and shoes on saturday before the hurricane rolled in. Im a little annoyed at the fact that they told us we were going to be in a classroom for the first two weeks and turns out we're going straight to the site on the first week. Plus the school bookstore is closed so i dont have my school patch yet and office max doesnt have my name tag because of the hurricane they said shipping was "delayed". great. and none of the professors are getting back to me... TWO professors emailed me different things about tomorrow. so Im just going to show up with my CPR card, health forms, backgroundcheck, the Qs from the power point. this is ridiculous. I called the school and of course no one is picking up because the whole school is closed for the day...
and i just tried emailing prof **** by clicking reply to the email that i got from her, and whoopty doo what do you know it says the email address she emailed me from does not exist!
ill just show up at 8am and if i have to wait then whatever better early then late right...
That sounds a little dysfunctional, 2 different times given by 2 different professors, with no other information. I wonder if you're even supposed to bring your stethoscope. Everyone else in your clinical is probably as confused as you are so try not to stress that you're missing something, if anything just bring everything and leave it in your car. Hope your first day goes well!
thats the thing if i had a car it wouldnt be a problem :/ im really low on money so i have to take the bus in the morning or get a ride from someone. but i really want this so im just going to have to suck it up and deal. Im just disappointed I expected better communication between the students and professors in the nursing program . I also sent an email to one of the professors few weeks ago and I never got an answer either.

and thank you kjm. I hope so to I was so excited and now Im just really anxious I really wished class wasnt canceled today i just feel like it would clarify a lot of things.

yeah it did thank god hahah if i had the information i was told today in class on Monday it wouldve been much much muchhh easier though!
