SCCC 2011 Ammerman Day Nursing Program

Published

This thread was started for everyone who will be attending the 2011 SCCC Ammerman Campus Day RN program. I think it might be worth it to have a thread especially for us, so that we can keep in touch with our fellow students, talk about issues that come up in class and help each other out when necessary.

if you are reading this now, you have probably been accepted into the program... Congratulations

Let's work together so that we can be the best both as students and in our future careers.

Me too! 8 to 2 on thursdays! With a male professor. :) same class I'm assuming?

If anyone is looking for a place to get their uniform and name tag... Life uniform in college plaza in Selden can help you out. They know exactly what you need as a SCCC nursing student. It did cost be about $75 for pants, top, and a long sleeve undershirt (to hide my tattoos.) Sneakers need to be ALL white. I just went to payless and found white sneakers for 30 bucks. Congrats to everyone again. I look forward to seeing everyone at orientation.

Definitely the same class!! :)

Thanks for the uniform info! I will be going tomorrow. I too have tattoos that need to be covered so I guess I will be buying an undershirt. Does it cover your chest too?

I ended up getting a white thermal that covers my whole chest.. Up to my collar bone. I'm sure you can find that anywhere though, but maybe not in the summer. The woman who works there will tell you exactly what you need to get regaurding body type and if you need certain things to be covered. Very helpful.

Oh good! I need a shirt that goes to my collar bone and my arms need to be covered. I don't even want to show up to orientation with my tats showing! Lol thanks for all the info! I def will be stopping there tomorrow :)

Looks like we are in the same situation! Glad I'm not the only one :)

Awesome! And we are in the same class! We can suffer the warm weather in long sleeve shirts together! Hahaha

I feel like hospitals are always cold. So we'll be fine!!

What do I wear to cover my tribal head tattoo? :rckn:

I just wanted to check in since it's been a while since anybody posted here. I went for the BLS / CPR certification today in Lindenhurst. The class was scheduled for 4 hours but only lasted 3. It covered CPR for adults, children and infants, use of the AED and also choking. The course was pretty basic and ended with a 25 question test. There were 4 people in my class and everyone passed. That's all for now.

Hope that you all have a happy and safe Memorial Day!
