Scared to death about the NCLEX-RN

The days are getting closer ... July 2 @ 2pm I take my NCLEX-RN. I've been focusing on Kaplan, did all the questions in the Qbank (average 68%), did all the question trainers (scores averaging 63-74%), reviewed content lectures in my really weak areas, and made flash cards. I just hope and pray this is enough, but each day the anxiety gets worse and worse. Falling asleep, and staying asleep, is pretty much impossible now. Any words of encouragement or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Don't be so scared. Anxiety can affect your performance. Your scores are actually really good. I think you will find the test easier than Kaplan questions. I took nclex twice. I failed the first time becuase of a severe anxiety attack during the test. 75 questions. I just took it again on Monday and passed with 75 questions.

ya...seriously try to stay calm. i did the same thing you are doing. i did kaplan and their whole qbank and practice tests and got about the same scores. i read through their book about the content i didnt remember as much, or the dx's that we may not have covered in school. then, i also did some saunders and got to about 4000 questions. i think with what you are doing you will be fine. what i saw on kaplan, i saw on the nclex. it was exactly what i expected. i took it yesterday 6/29 and came home and got the good pop up. i got 75 questions and i feel really positive about it! good luck when you take it...i think you will be fine! try to calm your nerves the best you can, because i had a little anxiety too, but told myself to stay calm and it went away!

:)

Practice your relaxation techniques when you feel the anxiety starting in. Good luck.

Your scores are awesome. Maybe you just need to start controlling your nerves.

I wish you all the luck. Take your time. Double read the questions so you know what they are talking about. Choose your best answer, and when in doubt disregard the really wrong answers and go with your gut.

Thank you all for your kind words. I'll just deep breathe, think positive and confident, and remind myself that I didn't come this far or work this hard for nothing!

I just took my NCLEX RN exam today, the only thing I can tell you is to go in with a purpose. You studied everything that you could do, now let that show. No matter what happens you did your best. Be in the zone as the professional would call it! Hope that helps. Break a Leg!

It sounds like you will be fine!

My Saunder's ranged any where from 50%-100%, Kaplan 68%-73%. I passed with 75Q!

(take the day off today, and watch an old movie before you go to sleep or while you are falling asleep, I guess it's supposed to trigger memory)!

Good Luck tomorrow!

Just RELAX and stay positive. I have been out of school for 8 years and I am in the process of preparing to take the NCLEX-RN myself so I understand your fear, but I will not let that overcome me this time. You have done well on your practice tests and I know you will be just fine, hope to see your results soon.

One word: Ambien.

Hahaha! I would take Ambien if I knew how it would effect me. :uhoh3:

But ... I'm feeling pretty good about my exam today! 75Qs done in an hour. :)
