Has anyone applied for the program?
Except for the Eng 33 class that is 4 days for the first week, am I correct that we only have 2 days @ our hospital site and 1 on-campus day? Do we need to wear our uniform to the Eng33 class or to the other on-campus class or just the hospital? Also, does anyone know how we find out where we go on our first day to the hospital? Help
You don't need to wear the uniform for the Eng 33 class or to lecture. You spend the first three weeks on campus to learn skills and you do need to wear your uniform for those "clinical on campus" days, and for the fourth week your clinical instructor will tell you where to meet up at the hospital. Have fun :)
Ok, so we've established what the cost of books will be for those ignorant of that information (myself lol). What sort of cost would a student be looking at for other needed expenses like uniforms? Im just trying to get a ball park figure of what this program is going to cost me as i am trying to do this debt free and avoid student loans if I can. Also, does the program have a different tuition cost or is it the same $26/unit as "regular" classes?
Hi j54gonzalez,
Here is a list of my breakdown:
Background clearance $97
ADN kit $103
Insurance $21
CPR $75
Stethoscope $83
Uniforms(2 sets & carnigan) $215
Delta tuition $433
Patches(3) $24
Books $1220
I think this is everything that I have bought so far, just to give you an idea.
So close to $2300 not including your immunizations and physical exam, everyone is different depending where you go. I still need the proper shoes but I haven't decided on them yet. Any suggestions anyone?

MMR, Tdap, two step TB test, varicella or titer check if you have already had chicken pox. Hep C antibody and Hep B titer. Do TB tests first cuz they can do them like a week apart unless you have vaccinations then you Have to wait at least 28 days after vacc before TB test can be done. You can save a bit of $ and sign the HEP B declination instead of having the titer checked. You can go to any health dept for tb and vacc, but you have to have a Dr order bloodwork for titer checks.
