Does anyone know if we need to get a Hep A vaccine along with the Hep B? I know that on the physical section is says it, but I dont recall anyone ever mentioning it. I would call the school, but of course they are going to be out till Jan 4.
Thanks

mkhoaja,
Have you gotten an acceptance letter? If so, when did you get it?
Misty,
I got my acceptance email on Dec 10. They send out emails, not letters. Have you checked your email inbox? or possibly your spam box? sometimes it can get mixed up. Hope this helps. In case it might help, I had a 3.5 gpa in the pre reqs and got a 25 on my ACT.
However, I believe that they look your science GPA as a major part. I dont know this for sure, but it might explain why some ppl with the same gpa and test scores get in, and why some dont.
Sorry, I meant the letter through email, but I have checked though and nothing. I did get the email saying the received my application, but nothing since.

Maybe just call the school and ask? The person who sent the email saying they received your application has a phone number listed on the bottom of the email... that is her direct line. When I called her she was able to look up my application and information on her computer... give her a call and ask why you haven't heard anything.
I did call, but it went to voicemail.

yes. some of my friends still have not heard anything. I called and asked they said they will still send letter out. But i don't know when. I think it's probably a good thing that you haven't get any letter. They are still trying to decide. Hope this helps.
I have a question to anyone that got accepted.
Have you completed the health and physical paperwork yet? if so, what did you do for the immunization page? I am curious if we can just put the dates on there or if they want copies of all of our records.
I wish I could help you, but still haven't heard anything. Does anyone know if they were out of the office for the holidays? I was wondering if they went on vacation for 2 weeks maybe since nobody has answered the phone when I called. Or has anybody else heard anything in the last week or 2?

I believe most offices are out for the holidays. I am taking a holiday mini and we were told everything was closed up until Jan 4. Good Luck!!!
Yeah the campus is closed till the 4th. I tried calling and got an operator and she told me the same that. Hopefully you can call someone and find out for sure by the 4th.

Hello there everyone. I don't personally go to San Jac at the moment (will apply there for nursing school, though, just Kingwood is closer right now) but my boyfriend applied for ADN Spring 2010 and got accepted. He has a A in all his classes (API, APII, Psych, Soc, Interpersonal Comm, Fine Arts, Kinesiology) besides Microbio, which he got a B, but he took all those classes at LSC Kingwood so he had to apply under the SAT option. He had like a 1110 on his Sat, maybe a little lower. Seems like they took wayyy longer than they were supposed to on getting the acceptance letters out. He was pretty sure he wasn't getting in when it was like Dec 20th and he still hadn't heard anything. But they sent out acceptance letters before rejection letters, and it was all done by email, so I'd make sure if you haven't heard anything either way to check your email address on file. Congrats to everyone who did get accepted, and have fun at orientation this week! I'll be taking the CPR for health care providers class with him at San Jac this month. That's as close as I am to anything nursing right now. Haha. Whoop!
mkhoaja, my bf is submitting all his immunization records, though I don't know what's required. he just finished up his hep b's and you do have to take your hep a's as well, so he's starting those now. it's crazy that you have to have the in-depth physical that you do. i understand why, it's just crazy. like, for his initial physical, he had elevated billirubin, so he had to get an ultrasound, then they found gallbladder polyps and had to monitor those with 2 more ultrasounds... it's crazy that he had to do that all for nursing school. are you cpr certified yet? good thing about that is, if you're not, you just have to be registered by the 14th, not actually have it completed.
