Did anyone else apply for the San Jac ADN program for Sping 2010? Which option did you apply under?
I applied under option A. My SAT score is 1170. When applying under option A, do they take anything else into consideration? My overall GPA (94 hours at San Jac and UHCL) is 3.3.
Thanks for your help!

Yeah I applied using option A. I am wondering if anyone has heard anything out there as far as acceptance. They told me that we should hear something by the first week of December, and that has long past. And of course when I call them, it goes to voicemail. I am sure they are getting calls every 5 minutes from students.

Well, I called yesterday and they told me that I would know something by the end of this week.
I hope so. All this waiting is killing me. I am wondering which part of the admission process they emphasize more, the ACT score or the GPA for the pre reqs. Does anyone know when classes start?

i talked to the nursing dept earlier today and they said they would start sending out letters today, tomorrow or the first of next week. i got my letter about 2 hours later...... it was a denial. it was confusing to me bc they said that they only took students who had a 3.3 gpa or better or who had a 21 or better on their act. i met both of those requirements! better luck to you all.
does anyone know how many students applied and how many were accepted?
I read on some of the other posts on this website that about 4-500 people apply each application period and there are only 120 spots available. if anyone got accepted do you mind posting your gpa and/or act score? i wish this was all a bad dream!

hi. i got the letter on dec 10. i got accepted. Thank God. but i still can't believe it...it's totally unexpected because i know how hard it is to get into the program..... my gpa is 3.5 on my pre-reqs. some of my friends didn't get any letter - some people said they still will send out letter of acceptance next week.....is that true?

Is there is anyone else who still has not heard anything? I am still waiting. I applied with a 4.0 on my prereqs and a 24 on my ACT, but my problem is I have a low overall GPA of 2.76 because of a couple grades from 10-12 years ago. I got rejected in fall because of that so I don't know if I have a chance or not, and it seems like I should have heard something either way by now.
Misty,
When I spoke to the nursing department after I got my denial letter, they told me that if you have a grade lower than a "C" on any of your science classes, even if you retook the class and earned an "A", then you will be put on probation by the nursing department. They only accept these particular students if there are openings available after all of the applicants who have never gotten a "D" or "F" in their courses are accepted first. Sound confusing? I hope not. The admin. assistant from the nursing department told me this. She also said that they haven't accepted any applicant with "D's" or "F's" on their science classes for the last 5 application periods that she has been employed at San Jac. She led me to believe that no student would ever be accepted into their program under these conditions *even if the student retook the class and earned an "A" in it and had all "A's" on the rest of her pre-requisites.* good luck to you. maybe you should try hcc.
I don't have a grade less than a C in any science course, so that is not the problem. My low overall GPA is from a totally different class that I took 12 years ago, not on a required course for the RN program.
