Just wanted to start a thread for the Fall 2011 SJC applicants to the ADN Program. I am eagerly awaiting the application period. Have any of you applied to other schools nearby?

I called the nursing program and I was told that Once I submit the background check it creates an online database and the drug screen results go to them directly. No need to do anything else, except, it is required that you turn in your receipts for both with all other paperwork. Don't forget to take copies of EVERYTHING you submit! Just in case....

I read through the studybook and just finished A&P 2 the day before I took it...so it was fresh on the brain. A lot of the questions were straight from the text in the study guide, and a couple of the practice exam ?s were on it too. I have a friend who is going through the same thing as you. She took the HESI a while back and only missed the A&P section by 2 points! She is retaking it on Wednesday. For a minute there, I though you were her....lolAsk the nursing dept if you need to retake the whole thig, or just the parts you didnt get a 75%+ in.....Good luck!

I only have to retake the AP...THANK GOODNESS! I didn't expect to pass it the first try since I hadn't finished AP2 plus I took it the day prior to my first lab test and was totally stressing! I still think had a not put myself in that situation I could've passed it the first time but now I know the format and everything and hopefully I'll pass this time :)
WISH ME LUCK!
They have changed things up so much that they are confusing everyone. I will be EXTREMELY POed if I don't get in due to some formality that I missed bc of all the confusion
Ok. I just spoke to enrollment services to confirm my application packet was received and they said yes. But they could not confirm if the packet was complete. All they said was they would turn into nursing dept and to follow up with them. I thought the nursing dept didn't get apps until after deadline. I'm confused!!
when i turned mine in the lady went through it and made sure everything was there. They went through my friends too and she was missing something and they let her know. im sure they are already working on the apps that they have already recieved...i also spoke with the nursing dept today and was told that they usually take 80-120 applicants and this semester they are looking at around the 120 mark and that they have a lot of applications and are looking at being around the 500 mark for applicants this semester...its so close to the deadline that im sure they pretty much have a majority of the apps turned in already.
Now our wait begins!!! GOOD LUCK!
Ok.I'll call them back and double check. Thanks!
Going today to turn in all my stuff!!!!

I'm taking my test tomorrow and totally stressing out! I'm super worried about the A&P part, and a little worried about the vocab... If you've taken it recently, do u know if the vocab is mainly from the HESI study guide? There is SO much to remember from A&P... I took both I & II over a year ago and I don't remember too many details. Can anyone that has taken it, please, please, please tell/give me an idea of how indepth the questions are? Do I need to remember exactly how the sodium/potassium pump works? Do I need to know the EXACT functions of the systems? ATP? Cell functions? Aerobic/anaerobic resp??? I'm looking through all of my notes and I'm so overwhelmed I was supposed to dedicate this entire week to studying but I've had SO many distractions! 2 kids, a dog, and daddy is out of town.. I'm NOT looking for sympathy... just empathy and tips!! lol...thanks so much guys... oh and I will def try to remember what the test covers and post it on here so I can help the next person :)
