San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2011

Just wanted to start a thread for the Fall 2011 SJC applicants to the ADN Program. I am eagerly awaiting the application period. Have any of you applied to other schools nearby?

This is making it extremely difficult to study for a test that some of us have Tues. my stomach doesnt feel so hot......:barf01:

i was just thinking the same thing...i keep hitting refresh on my email EVEN THOUGH I KNOW ITS NOT COMING TODAY!!! i need to be studying too!!!!!

I have to make my choice between College of the Mainland and San Jac. I go to the orientation for COM on Monday....depending on how I feel after that will most likely make up my mind. I will decline as soon as possible if I decide to not go with San Jac to give another person a spot.

yea i think just take a look at where the bar has been set...someone who has already gotten an email posted their GPA, HESI grade and pre req grades and im sure if you are in that range or higher then you are OK or have a really good chance of getting a letter. plus a few people have already declined and there are only few of us even on here compared to the whole group that applied. GOOD LUCK and keep us posted if anyone starts seeing more emails go out :)

Literally just got it :D so excited!!!!:clpty:

I had a 91.7 overall on my HESI. With a cumulative gpa of 2.98....

I had A's in Anatomy 1 & 2 and Micro.... B's in comp 1, and college algebra. Can't remember if they asked for anything else....

I think I had a total of like 24 points...

THAT' AWESOME!!!!!!! I just joined in today and I'm a last letter R!!!! =(

Friend of mine who is in my micro class now got a letter. She's an A. She's been freaking out and her email was in her spm folder the whole time lol

That's awful!!! Darn SPAM!!! I am freaking out, I'm an R too, so I am hanging in there with you guys. HUGE Chem exam Monday and all I can think about is if I am in or not!!! :bugeyes:

same here...test on tuesday and cant concentrate!!!! I wish they would just send them all ready!!! i wonder whos crazy idea it was to send them out in two batches OVER THE WEEKEND? or maybe it wasnt intentional or maybe there is a reason other than trying to drive us INSANE!

You don't have to take it at San Jacinto, you can take it anywhere you want(as long as its a American Heart Association class)... I would go ahead and get it over with! I took mine at UTMB and it was $25 and took about 3 1/2 hours. Other places get more expensive...I think the highest I saw was $60. You can go to the American Heart Association website and find a class that is available around you and just take it.

Here is a link http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/classConnector.jsp?pid=ahaweb.classconnector.home# click on the link nter your zip code and mile radius you wish to search...then click search. It is going to ask you which class you want...Make sure you choose "BLS for Healthcare Providers" that is the one you need. CLick submit and it will take you to a page of places that offer that class. I just called aroud until I found a price and day that I wanted. I did not buy the book and honestly don't think its necessary. Its a pretty simple class. I got my card the same day and its good for 2 years.
