Just wanted to start a thread for the Fall 2011 SJC applicants to the ADN Program. I am eagerly awaiting the application period. Have any of you applied to other schools nearby?

I wouldn't worry about when your transcript was pulled. When I called the nursing dept to check on mine around the end of June they hadn't received it from enrollment services and I turned mine in the week after the semester was over. So I called enrollment services to make sure they still had it and it hadn't gotten "misplaced" the lady told me it was on the top of the stack on the other lady's desk. She said there was no order they went in when processing them before they went over to the nursing dept. A friend of mine who turned hers in after me had her transcript pulled almost two weeks before mine. I don't think there's really a "system" until the nursing dept actually gets them and even that day i spoke with the nursing dept she said they hadn't even started looking at them until the get all of them from enrollment services. So the actual selection process seems to take less time than the selection process. I'm sure part of enrollment services job is to flag the ones that don't qualify to save the nursing dept some time. COME ON FRIDAY!!!!!! :)
I have a feeing you are right, by Friday night we should know if we are part of the nursing class of 2013. Exciting, yet nerve racking at the same time! I wouldn't worry about you're transcripts being pulled early, mine were pulled the middle of may (12th to be exact) I'm sure that enrollment services just pulled them as they were received. Did you apply later mybe? I applied beggining of May, would hve been April 1st but the stupid hesi got me the first time. Just overjoyed that this waiting game has almost come to an end.

Yea that HESI was not nice the first go 'round! I had just started AP2. I took HESI the day before our first lab test which was STUPID! I totally freaked out! We got there at 7 so we got seated early and had to hear all the other people registering which totally screwed up any chance I had of concentrating! THEN, me and my brilliant self decided to take the AP section first! I screwed myself every possible way I could have lol. Made an A on everything but the AP section...retook it AFTER finals and I PASSED WITH AN A!!! I was dang stressed that I was bawling when I called my husband to tell him I passed lol. Such a relief! Nooooow, we'll just see what Friday holds :)
My first round I got a 72 on vocab and a 75 on math, which I know is passing (math anyways) but not up to my standards. Everything else was very high A's. When I went to retake it I only took math and vocab and got a 96 on both. I'm just hoping they don't care to much that I took it twice, everything ended up being an A. Oohh, and I signed all my forms 2010, maybe they won't catch that little mistake )
At the end of May, I talked to someone in the nursing dept about the HESI because I didn't do as well as I expected the first time. She told me that they don't care if you had to re-take any of the sections on the HESI. She also said they will automatically take the higher score in case you ended up doing better the first time.

Yes. This is what I was told also.

Rhood, i don't think you should be worried. I think it's just the admin assistants that pull the transcripts as people turned in their apps, and they just put that it's for the nursing dept when they pull them... I didn't turn my app in until the day before the deadline. My guess is that the front office pulls the transcripts for anyone who is a candidate, and THEN turn them into the Admissions committee. I wouldn't worry too much about that
