Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?
Lets talk about it here
Can you guys tell me what your class/clinical schedule is for this 1st semester? Do you go 5 days a week or any weekends? Thanks a bunch!
Class schedule is going to be Monday-Friday. Monday's class will either be in the morning from 8-11, or in the afternoon from 12-3. The Tuesday-Friday class is all 8-11. This is for the first 8 weeks. For the second 8 weeks, you drop the Tuesday-Friday and exchange it with Tuesdays and Thursdays. This class is either in the morning or the afternoon (not sure on the times).
Clinicals are a bit more tricky, and considering we still don't have our schedules, this is only a logical guess on my part based on what my instructor has told me. Clinicals will be on either Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday, and be either 6-12 hours long. If it's 6 hours long, you get two clinicals per week. If it's 12, then just one. This is also in the second 8 weeks.
So in nice form, it looks like this:
1st 8 weeks-- M-F
2nd 8 weeks-- M, T, Thur, and whatever clinical day you get assigned to.
Well, Dr. * said he would try to get copies of the other sites so that we could get an idea of where we might be. That'd be nice, even if it did change eventually. I just really want an idea of where they're going to shove me off to.
I think it's next to the Lucky Charms. Mmm, Lucky Charms...
OK so I am sooo irritated...I had another teacher for check offs and I could not hear the blood pressure on my partner. I tried several times both arms could not hear it. The teacher couldn't even find the brachial pulse either. She asked all kinds of questions that Dr. * didn't even require and finally I got irritated and told her I would come back and try another day so I basically failed myself. She was so rude, obviously I know how to take a blood pressure if I was a CNA for three years...duh. She told me after one try why don't you come back and I said no I know how to do blood pressure...may not have been a smart move but I had to stick up for myself. O well when I go back to do it for Dr.* it will be fine. I think we should only be tested by our instructor. UGHHH
yeah I wasn't even mad that I didn't complete it I was mad that she was so rude and like grilling me with all these questions. My partner was looking for her own pulse because I couldnt find it brachial and that teacher came up and smacked her hand away and was like its not your turn its hers. I was like what??? I would have said something if she hit my hand away. I agree tho I kno that I know how to do blood pressure so I am just going to tell Dr.* what happened and retake the stupid thing. Just annoys me when this happens, don't think some teachers understand that this is our career and future they are toying with....now is not the time for power trips.

Yeah, crosswords must be done. I've been relaxing, trying to get my mind off of nursing for a couple of days : D
Ch. 18 for math was fun. Can't remember the last time I had fun using my brain. Seems like a different era. . .
