San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

Some of it's kind of common sense though. Like when you're trying to get subjective data, just remember that it's what the patient tells you.

But yeah, it really depends on how the test is composed. I don't worry until the second exam, because then I know how the test will be done, and I should know how to study.

Breathe deep and trust yourself : )

Well I thought I was ready until I saw the part about recognizing sounds and being able to identify the description for the sounds. Plus we have to know the instruments used in each examination. I've never been asked to drink water so the dr can check my thyroid. At least we have tomorrow to do the last minute cramming.

Eh? What chapter is that from? I don't recall reading about examinations. . .

I am tired though, so I just may not remember. Can barely remember what I did this morning : D

LOL, the title of the e-mail saying we don't need supplies for Tuesday is "Tuesday Lab class: bed bath & beyond" too funny.

Do you have Dr. **** for any of your classes Zippidy? He's like that all the time, an absolute riot.

Nope, I would have like to though.

Yep, you can thank me because I emailed Dr. ****to ask him about the supplies and for him to post the notes for ch 4. I've never felt comfortable emailing a professor, but Dr. **** makes you feel at ease. He also knows his info and is up to date. I only wish I could have him for intermediate skills.

Russell, check out the notes for ch 4 for Health Assess so you won't have any surprises tomorrow. You may already know the sounds of ausculation. But I've never had a dr or rn measure my jugular venous veins with a ruler.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Yeah, I do need to look that over, obviously : D

I don't think I've ever had any of my veins measured. That seems...odd. Maybe it's an outdated practice that the authors think is still important. I'll have to ask one of my nurse friends about that.

Well I finished my paper. Took me a bit longer than I wanted because I forgot how to put journal articles in the works cited page : D

Anyone else finish? And has anyone been able to look at their exam grade from today? Mine says the gradebook doesn't exist. Hope we don't have to wait for 2 weeks to see it : /

Wow you're done?!? I'm still trying to get my article approved. My first choice was rejected for being British.

My gradebook doesn't exist either. Mrs. ********* said we would have our grades posted by tomorrow. ::Fingers Crossed::

Being British? Eh? My article was from Canada. . .that's very odd. But yeah, I e-mailed Dr. **** and (because my e-mail is all fritzy right now) saw him today where he told me my article and subsequent choice of topic (sexual pain disorders) was cool. Sucks that yours hasn't even been approved yet.

She also says staples instead of stapes. Doesn't mean I have to believe : p

Woo, just got approved.

Just to make sure, tomorrows classes are staggered right? I told my lab partner and she thought I was mistaken.
