San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

Yeah, they said each grade would be averaged and that would be our grade for that section. Then they would average the section grades and that is our assignment grade (or whatever it's called, too tired to think).

Sweet! That would have been a lot of effort to white out too. Though I'm tired of studying too. Can't remember the last time I was tired at 8:30 x_x

Yes I crashed early last night also. But I'm up and running at 7:20 am because I need to study for el examen para manana.

Don't blame you. I'll be studying off and on all day. I feel pretty comfortable with this exam. It's the foundations one I'm just a wee bit concerned about.

Also, dumb question, but we go in at our regular time for this exam right? For some reason, my brain keeps telling me I need to go in early. And people wonder why I don't trust myself sometimes. . . : )

Heh. My brain shut down Friday morning and for some reason I thought I had to go to health assessment, and I didn't know what my room number was. Luckily I have the same room everyday.

And MNL sucks. Are we supposed to be doing the Key terms? I see others have done it.

The material for tomorrow seems straight forward which makes me think the test might be very detail oriented.

I think I'll get that way in about a week or so. Come in with all the wrong books, and then sit there wondering why I can only think about taking vital signs from people : D

Are you referring to the terminology stuff? If so, yeah, that was one of those mandatory must do assignments on there. But this whole thing sucks. I like that the pre-test and post-test are the exact same questions, just in a different order. Missed the stupid hearing aid pick question both times.

I concur with that assessment on...the assessment class. Hehe.

To make a long post longer, I think I may have found my topic on sexuality. I really wish we had to read these aloud.

Does anyone know if we are suppose and bring anything from our lab packs to Health Assessment tommorow? The calender says practice/class on it but nothing else.

Also, the dvd (or is it cd?) in the back of the Foundations book has terminology on it. I opened it in a different window and filled in the defintions in My Nursing Lab.

Russell, we have health assess at the same time tomorrow.

Has anyone figured out what supplies we need to bring for lab on Tues ?

Chelken, there's a skills list on blackboard (course documents maybe? I'm not exactly sure) and that will tell you what you'll need. We had a discussion about this in our class on Friday and Mr. **** essentially told us to do that.

Thanks Melissa, wasn't sure. My brain's fried.

*Edit*

Bleh. Skills sheet is next to worthless. Doesn't state dates or anything, just that when we practice those certain skills, we need to bring specific items. Sorry, I'll keep searching.

*Edit 2*

Because I'm not smart (still wondering why I got accepted), I just remembered Mr. **** said to bring everything and then pick and choose what we need. He said leave it in your car, and I would assume that we'll have a break and that is when we can go get what we need.

Beyond that, I have no idea. My post makes me look...moronic at best.

I looked for this too, and the items aren't listed. But, since the skill's are bed/bath/hand's, I'm sure the lab will have everything. Unless our manikins will be spewing body fluids, then gloves might be useful. I'm thinking a couple of copies of the skills check off sheet would be helpful for following along and self checking.

Okay...thanks y'all. I going to print out the skills check off list now.

A manikin spewing fluid made me laugh. I know simman is cool. It coughs, wheezes, does all kinds of cool things.

Well i'm leaving the fluids at home because the heat can damage them one would think.

I can't believe all the info we're going to be tested on in Health Assess.
