San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

I know...u guys keep rubbing it in.

The one thing I am not liking about the bad/bath thing is the switching out of gloves, seems tedious.

I am happy with my test grade, hopefully the fundamentals test will be similar.

Well, we can all take solace in the fact that when we get jobs, we can just delegate this to the UAP : D

do you guys know where an example of the APA paper is at? i printed out the one off of powerpoint that pera showed us in orientation, but i can barely see it. do y'all know where another one is at?

I have no idea where you might be able to find an example. I'd show you mine but I'm turning it in tomorrow (forgot to print out all the extra stuff we needed. Explains my 88 on the exam though : p ). Sorry.

Finally ordered my terminology book. 36 dollars on Amazon. Getting it on Thursday! And I'm going to be able to fix my subwoofer! Happy week!

I just finished chapter 1 in the medical terminology book and 1-4 in the math for meds book, got 3 more to go in that one....its so boring. I'm trying to read the chapters for fundamentals for the test friday but ch 1-3 are so boring. I don't think there is a lot of hard information in those though. O yea he said that when we do our check offs that we pretend to change our gloves we dont actually do it. Also, I can tell you from experience as CNA that the way we are learning is the correct way, by the book, but not what goes on in the hospital. So just get past this part and like Russell said then when we get a job we can do our own way.

Ah, I love 8-11 classes! I feel like I accomplish more on these days : )

First up, Dr. **** showed me what a finished clinical folder looks like. Let's just say you'll need a UAP to assist in cleaning yourself when you see it.

Secondly, if you're having issues with the paper, here are some things to do (if you haven't done it or are confused like I was):

Attach it in a folder with the 3 holes. They won't take your paper if you don't do this, believe me I tried.

Print the grading criteria and the article and put it in said folder. Again, I failed to do this and couldn't turn it in.

If you can, turn it in early. Dr. **** took mine and said he would point out things I missed or did wrong and would let me correct them. Awesome sauce.

Specializes in Oncall Hospice RN.

So you still have your paper?

No, Dr. **** took it and was going to look over it and give me some pointers to improve it. So he's not grading it, just assisting me in making it better.

Are you talking about the APA paper? 2 page paper?

If so, our teacher never said anything about a folder to put it in.

or anything of that sort.

Says it on the grading criteria : p

"Assignment must be presented attached in a report folder."

OH! where do we print the grading criteria paper at? and what order do we put these in?

and hey, are you doing a summary/abstract?

we do not have to, correct?
