Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

I remember her saying that we should read chs.1-4 in Health Assessment since we'll have a test on it the 2nd week and the instructor will be too busy going over the procedures. She also recommended reading chs. 1-14 in Foundations just to get a head start. Sounds like we'll be tested over the entire book at the by the end of the course so none of the reading will be done in vain.

I like having some homework since it helps me to appreciate the last few days we have of freedom.

Yeah, though I'm extremely ready to start this business. I want my degree dagnabit!

chapters 1-14.. like within a week? what?! ha.

I wouldn't doubt it. They seem intent on making sure we're prepared to do this.

but there is such thing as overload of work correct? like.. how are we supposed to remember everything about every 14 chapters within a week. know what i mean?

I dunno. It does seem like a lot, and 4 chapters per week sounds more reasonable. But that Fundamentals book is huge, so I'm not sure.

Guess we'll find out in two weeks.

Health Assessment is only 4 chs a week. I'm using the study to make the note cards so I don't waste time studying irrelevant info.

I meant to say syllabus instead of "study".

melissa,

when you say syllabus to make the note cards..

do you mean like instead of reading your book, you're going to just

get the info off the syllabus?

are you still gonna read the irrelevant info out of the book though?

I think she's going to do both, then find the stuff we need to know off the syllabus and make note cards from there. Sounds like a good plan actually.

Assuming that's what you said Melissa : p

Well I noticed on the syllabus/study guide that our learning objectives are pretty specific so we should have enough info to study for the next 2 weeks. It's kind of difficult to push myself to study when I know we actually have 3 weeks to memorize the info. But I need something to study while I'm at the gym so I'm not giving the guys working out with weights the wrong impression when I'm truly just admiring their muscle definition.

Haha Melissa. Just got around to reading that. Playin' it smooth : D

Just wanted to let you guys know that if you check Half-Price Books, you can find deals. I found my first one! The Med/Surg book that we need, I found the 6th edition for 10 dollars. I saved $90 and am now in a great mood!

I realize they said that older editions may not work, but that's bull honky. I've not seen an edition change that was necessary yet. But anyway, just thought you guys who have not bought all the books yet should look at every bookstore you can before you plunk down your cash.

Russell away!
