Hello everyone!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2021 term at SMU. Has anyone applied or planning on applying? Feel free to drop your stats and scores!

ONE week or less ‘till notifications are sent out to applicants!

GOOD LUCK to everyone!!  Keep your dream of being a nurse, no matter the decision received from SMU.  The world needs us more than ever.

VOTE!

In peace,

Darcie

Thank you, Darcie! Your name looks familiar. Did you attend Merritt? I feel like I may have taken MCB with you. LOL.

Do you guys know if we are gonna get our decision emails BY 11/10 or ON 11/10?

It all depends on when the department releases decisions. I asked and was unable to get a direct answer. I asked if there could possibly be a delay and she said she doesn’t know anything until the department updates her. So I just made an account on the portal to check the status myself LOL

Hey Caitlin!

I took Micro at Merritt with Rowning in the Fall of 2019.   I also took nutrition, intermediate algebra, English 5, and philosophy at Merritt.

I took Bio 24 with Allen-Requa, and Bios 2, and 4 at Laney with Bailey.  I was a TA for all three of these bio classes the following semester I took them with the according professor. So, maybe we crossed paths one of those six semesters?!

I took Chem at BCC, with all other classes coming from my undergrad degree in psychology.   However, I graduated from that program in 2000.  I’m no “Spring chicken.”   Ha ha.

I've also done a good amount of volunteering around the Bay, and am part of the queer community.  Perhaps we crossed paths there, if not in a classroom.

Where did you complete your prerequisites?

Good luck! I hope we get to meet in person (again?) very soon!

In peace,

Darcie

No problem. I hope we all get accepted. I can't believe that there's only 6 more days until we hear back. Good Luck!

Have you guys applied to other schools besides SM?

Hi Darcie, wow your background is impressive! From my understanding about SMU, you are the perfect candidate! That's what I was curious about, not so much about the amount of applicants,  but how competitive it really is. I think at this point everyone is going to have great GPA.

No worries, I am not a "Spring Chicken" myself  ?

I took MCB with you! Good luck to you! Most of my prereqs I took at Peralta. A few at Ohlone ?

I'm curious to see who are military veterans in this thread.  I am a veteran myself and I would love to see how you prepared for nursing school.

Have you guys been in contact with Shawna or anyone? I’m getting really nervous. The only other school I applied to for Spring is USF
