Hello everyone!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2021 term at SMU. Has anyone applied or planning on applying? Feel free to drop your stats and scores!

Just want to update: I received preliminary review email today.

I don't think they go in alphabetical order or time when applications were submitted.  I think it's really randomly, especially because someone here mentioned that they spilt the applications amongst themselves for quicker responses. ?‍♀️

Also, the new timeline indicates another week before moving on to the next stage. If you haven't heard from them yet, you definitely will ? it seems many received theirs this week.

Hi Pk, can you share with us what this preliminary review e-mail looks like? I received an e-mail last month, August 16th, that read: 

"Thank you for your interest in Samuel Merritt University. This email confirms that we have completed our preliminary review of your application(s). Email is the official method of communication. If you are expecting an email from us please check your spam and junk folders before calling. Throughout the application process you will receive notifications and updates when they are appropriate. Please refrain from calling the admission office as this slows the application review timeline.

We look forward to working with you this application cycle.

I wanted to know how you guys are planning to approach things with the new deadline. Are you preparing an application for fall 2021 right now? The personal statements have been slightly tweaked for next cycle, so that means revising or starting over on what was already submitted. I also feel bad asking my recommenders to submit again ? . How are you guys going about this?

Thank you for the heads up! It was so difficult to get a hold of my Professor due to Covid ? how about transcripts? Do we need to resubmit them and pay for it?

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about. I hate having to bother my professors again. You would only need to resubmit if you take any additional classes.

@Momo26@MImiAZ, yes Personal statement have been changed..seems like we need to submit CV as well. Do you guys have HESI or TEAS score? I registered for tomorrow virtual fall preview day at 9am.
