Samuel Merritt Spring 2017 ABSN

Hello! I just wanted to make a thread specifically for those who are applying to the Samuel Merritt ABSN for a spring 2017 start. I'm applying to start in April 2017. It's the only program I'm applying to, as I can't afford more than a year without an income and I really want a BSN and not an MSN at this time. I'm done with my application, just waiting for nursing CAS to verify all my transcripts before I click submit! Currently working full time and taking my last 3 pre recs online. What about you?

I don't even think we can do anything yet in terms of loans, am I right? I will also be paying 100% with loans.

Yea, I think so too. You have to know the school you are going to for sure, so you wouldn't apply for fafsa/loans until accepted I think.

Nope they told me to do fafsa before finding out if you got in.

Oh ok , maybe just for the private loans then we would have to wait.

Yes, we have to do fafsa as always but still nothing can actually be done before acceptance is what I've understood...?

I haven't even thought about the loans yet. Anxiously waiting for that email. lol.

I went ahead and did a fafsa-only takes a few minutes. With notifications going out so close to the program start date, it's a good idea to get the ball rolling. Anyone have good info on private loans? I have a feeling I'll end up going that route...

i was hoping that private loans would just be offered as part of our award package??? i have a ton of school loans from already doing grad school but they are federal, i've never done private before!

Sigh. Friday afternoon. Weekends mean nothing now when we are waiting each day to hear back from school lol. Monday is so far away 😂

I forgot about that! Well hopefully they hear back from the faculty by Tuesday and we hear back Wednesday??

Same here. My friend who applied last cohort mentioned that she got the acceptance email on a Friday around 6pm. So I'm hoping some of us hear today. But I'm sure by next week we'll hear something. :saint:
