Samuel Merritt Spring 2017 ABSN

Hello! I just wanted to make a thread specifically for those who are applying to the Samuel Merritt ABSN for a spring 2017 start. I'm applying to start in April 2017. It's the only program I'm applying to, as I can't afford more than a year without an income and I really want a BSN and not an MSN at this time. I'm done with my application, just waiting for nursing CAS to verify all my transcripts before I click submit! Currently working full time and taking my last 3 pre recs online. What about you?

Hopefully not, because especially for you and those starting in april...it wouldn't leave much time for getting organized.

That has been exactly my thought. Even finding out early March stresses me out. Not enough time to prep and organize my (new) life! So I'm prepping now and hoping for the best

Has anyone filled out the fafsa yet? We don't have our taxes done yet so I haven't started. I hate how there aren't federal loans for a second bachelors!

I just got an email a couple days ago reminding me to do my fafsa BUT good news:

"The 2017-18 FAFSA asks for older (2015) income and tax information than in previous years. This makes it easier to complete your FAFSA because at this point, most people have already filed their 2015 taxes and can transfer their tax information directly into the FAFSA right away using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. This is fast, accurate, and lessens the amount of paperwork that may be required by your school."

I wish they sent updates every so often, just for a little ounce of hope. Haha. Also, how do I know for sure that NursingCAS sent my application to Samuel Merritt? That's the thing I don't like about this, what if there was some mysterious error and my application didn't go to them? Every little thing worries me, I must get in!! :nurse:

They didn't let you know your app was complete? I actually got an email from Samuel Merritt back in Dec (right after I submitted my application), with a question about one of my pre-reqs. And saying that I was only eligible for the June start since I still have pre-reqs in progress. We cleared everything up, and they said my app was complete and would be reviewed. So I think if you did not hear anything then you should be ok. But I don't think it would hurt to email them making sure.

I didn't receive anything either. But at the same time, even if something did go wrong, at least the programs start every 6 months so we could apply again soon!
